Rather than spend time producing adverts because Apple know the Galaxy launch this friday is gonna cost them big (as far as existing iPhone users migrating to Samsung), Apple should be spending time on producing a decent phone to compete!!!!!!!! :)

Honestly, between these and the Samsung commercials I love these better. These actually show you what you can do with the device versus the Samsung ads that just have people talking and you barely see the device at all...

I love these ads. And I compared them to Samsung because they are the competition and they are heavily being advertised.

Yeh, who cares if the phones Samsung are kicking out are better ... its all about the adverts isn't it!

I own a lot of Apple products and put my money where my mouth is. I just picked up a Galaxy SIII and no question it's flat out a better experience than my iPhone 5 is. Better everything...can't stand the tiny narrow screen on my 5 now. I switch out phones every six months or so. If they can get it together with the 5S I will buy it. I just love it when people trash something they've never owned or used for more than 5 minutes. Apple apologists are just annoying.

My 5 is going on eBay soon ... or I will just give it to one of my girlfriends to use.

This ad campaign is the major driver that makes me think some people are right when they say Apple has lost its luster. I have been ardently defending Apple since the 90s. I buy just about all of their products and I just got myself the new 27" imac. However, everyone knows that part of the magic that is Apple was in the way the package was delivered. I'm talking about Steve Jobs being excited about a new product. I'm talking about the way that Apple painted its competition as old and boring (IBM, Microsoft, etc). This commercial campaign is AWFUL.

I recently attended campaign management school in Washington D.C. A presenter who has designed some of the most famous political ads in the last 25 years had only TWO ads to show us to make his point about really GREAT political advertising. To my surprise, they weren't political ads at all. They were the "think different" and "mac v. pc" ads. He said they were among the greatest ads of all time. Specifically, "mac v. pc" slammed the competition, but did it (he said) in a fun way that everyone had to admit was true.

Advertising at apple has shifted away from edgy and fun ... and morphed into boring, dull, and forgettable. This makes me think that the things people are saying on here about Apple "losing its touch" might just be true. If I was to write an ad for apple ... it would be the easiest thing in the world. Something funny... and yet true. "Hello, I'm an iPhone ... And I'm an Android." Then one of them falls on the ground and says, I just cracked myself because I'm made of cheap plastic.

I have to question why Apple feel the need to advertise?

Of course I understand advertising, but I'm also savvy enough to understand that the only reason why we have this commercial is in leu of the impending Galaxy S4 launch. As such, shouldn't Apple be concentrating on getting their product lines in order; which are staid and boring and have fallen way behind competitor offerings.

Apple seem too content with resting on their laurels; and if they are actually listening to their customer base (which would make a change from Jobs telling his customer base what he knew they actually wanted!), they're just to damn slow to react and produce relevant products. It only seems to be the iSheep that say they don't need larger than 4" screens and that fingerprint recognition is a must have; whilst meanwhile, existing iPhone owners like myself ARE looking at competitor offerings which do seem very exciting! How could I not get excited about the S3/S4 and Note II - especially when I then go back to my small, slow and boring iPhone 4. Now if these were Apple products, the whole world would be singing their praises; as it is they are not ... so the line (from Apple and their sheep) is 'Who needs these features!"

Like you I've been an Apple fan for many years; but in 2013, they've lost their way ... and who's fault is this???? Personally, I recently bought a Nokia Lumia 620 to give Windows Mobile a bash ... and I love it! Its not without its flaws but its new and exciting and has some great features that have made me play with my phone again! As such, Apple have lost an iPhone user ... advert or no advert!

Just a suggestion for all of the complainers... present a better idea. It's a better use of everybody's time. We already know you don't like the ads, we want to know what ads you'd like to see. :)

???? If you read the forums, people have been saying for some time what Apple should/needs to do ... like Apple have ever listened to anyone!!!!

Here's one: Hello Apple, rather than produce App adds, please could you produce an exciting new phone with a 5" screen, wireless charging, non scratch back, improved IOS and an SD card Slot so I don't have to pay you £100 more for every 16 GB extra I need.

hope Apple (thats Apple, not Samsung!) are listening!!!!

I agree with the whining and iOS 6, but iDevices?? iPhone 5 is an engineering marvel.

The only lazy folks are the worthless tech bloggers and journalists who lump iPhone with other "high-end" handsets like Galaxy S3, when in fact, those phones aren't even in the same class when it comes to design and manufacturing sophistication.

Thats odd, because I haven't seen Apple's design and manufacturing innovation yet ... you know, the one that has brought about an S3 equivalent? The S3 is plastic on the back yes, who cares, its plastic because it allows users to access the battery and add an SD card instead of paying Apple £100 for every extra 16GB required! The S3 back also doesn't scratch and look ruined after 6 months use like the iPhone 5!

I think you need to take a look at the S4 when its launched this friday and the current Note II - then let us all know where Apple's improved design and manufactured competitor products are? yes you're right, Apple certainly aren't in the same class!!!!

(and I speak as an iPhone and Windows Mobile 8 owner!!!)

Not terrible ads, but not earth-shattering.

Apple used to get this stuff right because Jobs had his finger on the pulse. He would sometimes show up at obscure music events and loft parties here in NY. He knew what was up inside and outside of tech. Tim Cook should get out more. It would help the brand (and perception).

And the latest estimates are that the iPhone 5 outsold Samsung's flagship phone almost 2:1

Even Apple's older iPhone 4S squeaked by it too.

I think Samsung's mockery backfired ;)

Any one can produce figures to suit their needs!

How old is the S3, how old is the iPhone 5 ... and what will happen come Friday following the S4 launch? As an iPhone user, even I have to conclude Apples glory days are over ... and the iPhone 5 is on seriously borrowed time!!!!

Both of those ads are HORRIBLE. Who are they advertising to, 5 year olds??!

There isn't a face palm picture good enough to sum up my views on those ads, burn them with fire!!

The last good apple ad was 'bounce', but prior to that I think the last apple ad I liked was the 'there's an app for that' ads.

As others have said I also find it is annoying, but having said that, there is a trend towards annoying advertisements lately IMHO, it seems that through being annoying they also become memorable. (Go compare ads in the UK for instance)

the ads are better then the Samsung commercials. Samsung needs to go back to the iphone bashing ads because their ads seem to be about nothing.

What is the speaker featured in the "DISCOVER" one? It's yellow woofer with chrome tweeter? I need one now!

Might be a Tannoy. Look into their "Reveal" monitor series. REALLY great sounding monitors. We use those quite a bit in smaller broadcast studios and production rooms.

These ads are horrendous, but they do a good job of showcasing some of the best apps iOS has to offer.

If Samsung showed a bunch of apps in their commercials... they would be promoting Google's Play store.

This.

Samsung just wants you to buy their phone and their cover. Once that's done, they don't care about you anymore. That must be why their commercials don't focus on apps.

Not crazy about the words and yelling, but these are ads for the mass market, not to me. And I immediately went to the app store and bought the Rubik's Cube app. So it still worked.

If you were able to read my comments ... I have already presented a better idea---and it took my life 3 seconds to come up with it. The current ad campaign is absolutely boring.

I can tell you how old the Galaxy S3 is... it's 9 months old.

And the iPhone 4S is 18 months old and still outsold it :)

Oh I know what you're thinking... all those Samsung fans were just waiting for the Galaxy S4... that's why there was a lull in sales.

So why is the iPhone 4S still such a hot seller?

To those complaining about this ad: Is an ad bashing iPhone users while promoting futures nobody cares about is a much better idea?

I personally like these commercials because they focus on the Apps you can run on your iPhone. Rarely any OEM promotes their devices using third party apps as the main focus of the campaign. This is huge, specially when it comes to gratifying developers efforts.

I dont care about commercials of people jumping around a tablet without showing any software that runs on it, I dont care about commercials showing off how you can slide from screen to screen or commercials promoting self implemented features no one will ever use(bump to share). Apps is what makes iOS and to that extent congrats to Apple for giving so much credit to the developer community.

These ads are embarrassing to watch. They wouldn't be as bad without the crowd of people shouting out the words.

The close up of hands using the iOS devices has been played out enough at this point. They need an ad agency to start from scratch on a concept instead of just trying to refine the same old same old. Then again, they did that with the Genius ads and they were even worse.

What is wrong with you people!

The message is quite effective and at times clever.
The only part that can be disagreeable is the audio.

Turn off the music, watch it a couple of times, then comment.

I think these ads are excellent, they pack so much punch into a short ad but actually show you what you can accomplish with an iPhone.

There may be 700,00 apps in the store now, but they all look just like the ones on my first iPhone in 2007. The look of the phone is way past being long in the tooth and it sorely needs to be updated.
