I visit Android sites on occasion but rarely post and when I do I don't bash Android. I see a lot of hypocrisy on the Android sites claiming Android innovation when it is copying Apple just like you claim is here but the Apple 'fans' are civil enough not to rain on their parade.

Like for example?

Apple hasn't really been an innovative company for a long time - their real strength has been refinement.

For too long people have ignored very similar prior art, and the role that Apple's suppliers play in actually innovating the technology that allows Apple to create their products.

Which isn't to diminish the important role that Apple has played in giving products a mass appeal, but the idea of "innovation" has been rather overplayed.

For people saying that it serves Apple right, or the drop in rankings as the evidence for Apple not innovating anymore, really ought to go through that list. Some of it sounds really cool, some weird and there's also Disney in there for what looked like announcing their streaming service! It's a fun read, but the general list compares well, apple, and oranges (not the first time that pun is used here, I imagine)

My definition of innovation is coming out with revolutionary products never seen before. Let’s start with the big one. The Galaxy Fold. Both an iPad and an iPhone in your pocket. How’s that for innovation?
The foldable, flexible has been in the works from companies other than Samsung for years. So innovation no, second to market yes.

are you for real?
many people dont know what innovation means, including the guy who you quoted.

Yes
and I own both the iPhone X 256Gb and the Huawei mate 20 Pro ( and also the Apple watch 4 if you ask)

what are you trying to tell us with that? it doesn`t matter how many devices you own from a company if you dont know what innovative means.

if you read the article you will see that apple is still number 1 in consumer electronics, your chinese companys aren`t even in the top 10. your arguments are not valid https://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/2019/sectors/consumer-electronics

huawei and xiaomi aren`t listed in the top 10 china category https://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/2019/sectors/china

you said before the chinese companys are more innovative but that isn`t true

Not a single company actually put such a product enmasse in the market so yes its innovation. Microsoft was developing a Windows phone with Hover 3DT named "McLaren". Its vaporware unless they offer it for sale.

So what? It's still a very innovative feature.
Well, I see your point but I'm sure you see mine also.
I'm sure all these companies have amazing innovative things in their secret lab and only few of those will see the light. Its a bit different I know but the idea is there.

Regardless, Apple Watch is still not there yet. Probably needs 3-6 more years to be truly personal device. Right now its a fancy notification center. (I have Apple Watch) :)

It's been way more than that right from the start.
I should know because I've had my "Series 0" almost since launch day.

That's not to say it doesn't still have huge potential to become an even more relevant personal device.
But it has already come a long way, from a strong starting point at that.

from a starting point? Yes, totally. I have Series 2 but each year they update I see no reason to upgrade as there is nothing to gain, really. Personally, I see the watch as the personal doctor that will monitor a lot of body functions etc. I also know that such thing is still far off but eventually it will be amazing. Having a precise overlook on all things would make people healthier, live longer and would be able to avoid bad stuff.
After all, people are obese mostly because of lack of knowledge so having a device that tells you "hey buddy, enough with the freshly squeezed orange juice - you have overloaded your body with sugar and now insulin is going to take care of it and as a storage hormone you know what that means" :D
Can't wait for that day. That to me is the future of Apple Watch - personal doctor :)

Absolutely looking forward to that kind of future. And the Series 4 made the largest leap yet in that direction.
But to me the Watch is so much more than a health device (partly because the "Series 0" is quite limited in that regard).

I would love this integration , but given the recent critical bugs coming one after another for IOS / Mac, I think Apple needs to get their software department in line first....

You know what the real problem is? That they are still planning to stay within their iOS and macOS as separate entities strategy, judging from what we just heard yesterday from Intel execs. ARM chips will be inside Apple laptops next year.
Why? iPads are already as thin as materials permit and DO NOT use that stupid butterfly keyboard. Ditch the laptops and desktops!
Use only iPads as flexible (no pun intended) workstations, and iPhones as complementary data/meta-data acquisition devices (3D scanning, imaging, GPS module, sound capture, etc.) How come they cannot see all the advantages of using all the sensors inside an iPhone to digitize an enormous amount of information from reality, and the iPad to process it. That's it, those two tasks could keep hardware lineup simple.
AR is only one of the hundreds of applications for that combo, and it's just being used as a marketing tool, when in reality fields like medicine, engineering and the creative arts could integrate all of that technology to really advance the way we create, compose, design... even that Watch could integrate itself in workflows like the one being used on other devices, like keeping music tempo using vibrations sent to your body, instead of using sound cues.
But we don't get that... greed drives that company now and they want you to buy laptops, desktops, iPads, iPhones, etc. and milk you out for as much as they can.

It would be amazing if the 2 are merged.

Right now , for Mac books pro that lack extra power can be attached to an external GPU .

Apple should consider that for the IPad too.
An external GPU / CPU connected to the iPad when we need extra power.

Of course the iPad / IPhones should dump lightning and go for USB - C / Thunderbolt.

The only innovation I wish Apple followed through with is something like the Surface Studio.

I love another iMac like the sunflower/lamp style that I could draw on too.

Really though, all I want is for Apple to get back on the horse with their hardware and software QC.

As far as Apple falling to 17th, whatever. They’re obviously preoccupied and sitting on their laurels. Props to Microsoft and other OEMs in the PC world for doing new things. Ditto for phone makers.

Buying a Surface was the best decision I ever made. I've had a Surface RT, Surface Pro 3&4 and now am on a Surface Book. The surface rt, even though it couldn't run win32 exe apps replaced both my laptop and iPad. It had full office and I could connect a keyboard, mouse, another HD if I wanted to dock it with large monitor and key board and mouse, I even had a desktop. If Apple would have just not been stubborn or whatever and put OS X on a tablet I would have bought that first and never switched. I even eventually switched from iPhone to Windows phone because of iOS and once Windows Phone failed to take off, which sucks because I really really liked the UI and the camera. It was a Nokia 1020 and had a 48mp camera at the time and was amazing. Now I have an Android Phone because I would never go back to iOS and it syncs perfectly with my Surface. This is coming from someone who when they got their first laptop graduating high school in 2002 and bought an iBook and went everything Apple till I bought a surface.

If you have ANY questions let me know and I will help you out!

Thanks! I appreciate it! I'm still just starting out with it, will let you know if I need anything! Thanks!:D

Want a recent example? Android 9.0 copying iPhone X's navigation gestures.
LoL
Copied is a strong word but I don't know what Android site ever claimed Gestures in Android P is an "Android innovation"(or even honesty liked the way Google implemented the gestures interface in P)
Now the question is, will you admit you grossly exaggerated and you don't have any plausible examples? I honestly doubt it.
