Apple's Feb 28th Media Event takes place at 10:00am Pacific at the Apple Town Hall Building in Cupertino, California.

The most likely products for release include an iPod Boombox and the Intel Mac mini.

Meanwhile, Intel iBooks and Touch Screen iPods are said to be coming soon, but not necessarily at the event.

Live coverage of the event will be limited due to the invite-only aspect of the event. MacRumors.com will link to live coverage and provide a running summary of events as they take place.

this event will hopefully rock all of our socks off, i cant wait to see what gets released, second post!

sweet.

the ipod hi-fi is quite a mystery as to what it does, and i can't wait to know.

heres to the miniscule chance of the ibooks tommorow!

what sucks is this place will probably be down for hours after, which seems to be normal due to the heavy traffic. I have class at 2 EST so if the event doesn't wrap up within the hour (starting at 1pm EST) I won't know until 3:30.

Then again, there's always the option of surfing the wireless network on my girlfriend's PDA in accounting class :-D hmmmm

Does "link to live coverage" mean the normal macrumorslive deal or is there a third party site that is doing live coverage?

there will probably be a few sites doing live coverage, but not us directly. so, we'll link to whoever is offering it, so people can get their fix. :)

Leopard's not due until next winter, plus or minus (but may be previewed at WWDC).

Will MR have its own live coverage already set up, or just hopes to find coverage to link to? EDIT: see above :)

(And I wouldn't count on MR going down... it took quite a load in January!)

what if they unveil Leopard?

wouldn't put it past apple to do something so crazy and surprise us, however I think it's 99% unlikely. I bet we'll see the first signs of Leopard in June at WWDC. I think tomorrow will center around ipods and/or digital lifestyle/home media.

Sounds good, thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it at 9 am, not 10 am as the article states?

No, the invite said register at 9AM for the thing to start at 10. That means we East coasters will have to wait til 1 in the afternoon...

tomorrow

Fingers crossed for some Apple DVR action. I hope this is not a dissapointing event - with just iPod extras.

Dumb Question

i heard somewhere it was originally used for internet. The original imac was supposed to be a cheap machine for people to mainly surf the net, internetmac, imac for short and it sort of just stuck...Just what I heard though :)

nothing.

when the iMac first debuted jobs mentioned that the "i" stood for internet, but it was rarely (if ever?) mentioned in promotional materials. since that time it has become, for lack of a better term, a branding element.

[edit]
i should say the i was never explicitly mentioned as standing for the internet, but the original commercials focused on the iMac's ease of connecting to the internet. the whole "there is no step 3" thing.
