That is correct. A kind of subliminal, dual context signifying "internet" and "i" for personalization and consumer friendliness/ease of use to get on the internet with a personable/non-intimidating computer. It was 1998. It was barely in '97 that "WWW.(whatever).com" started becoming popular. I remember seeing the first highway billboards with that on it and wondering what it was.
Before '97*, the internet was mostly being used by consumers mostly just for email and chatting.
*Under the Clinton/Gore administration. Don't give me any of that "Gore said he invented the internet" junk. I know he misworded his statement and was only implying that he in large part was responsible for giving the general public access to it, which is true.
