Fingers crossed for a revised 13" MacBook Pro. Scissor switch keyboard with upgraded internals would be good. If they can get a 14" screen in there too then all the better.

Once you've used the new 16", its really not a pleasant experience going back to a butterfly keyboard model.

Yeah, I have a 2012 MBP that is on it's last legs & I will not upgrade until they upgrade the 13" to the 14" like the 16". Hopefully this is what the article is referencing.

Been waiting so long for this if it's a new 13" or 14" MBP with a scissor keyboard. Still using a late 2013 rMBP because I don't want a butterfly keyboard. Would love to buy this ASAP if it's what we think it is.

Does anyone have any idea how much time typically passes from when these filings are made and when we actually find the real details?
few months. I bet for march release.

I love butterfly. This is last moment to buy it and there will be sale price for it. Great.

Wouldn’t it be swell if it’s a new mobile ryzen? I’d even be fine paying normal Apple price for the better performance it would offer over all the lake iterations from intel.

It would be fantastic for their margins too so hopefully they break from solo intel and at least offer different configs.

No new 14" MBP just yet. Phil S made it very clear to Jonathan Morris on the YouTube interview that it's not happening yet. There's no way that Phil would lie for thousands to see. He's a decent guy!

Im pretty sure he just said something along the lines of "I cant talk about that"

Regarding the Eurasian database...

I'm still waiting for those as-yet unreleased iPads/iPad Pros that made it into the Eurasian database last year. Some have been released, but others are still MIA.

13" MBP models typically utilize Intels' 28W mobile processors. The Ice Lake 28W processors won't be out until some time Q1 of this year so I'm skeptical of this being a 13" MBP. My money is on the next MBA
Could be MacBook Air, but MacBook 13” uses 15W and 28W parts. Machines sometimes show up in that database many months before they’re actually released, so it’s hard to derive too much meaning wrt release timing.

The lower end model (2 thunderbolt ports) uses 15W parts (though with iris graphics unlike the old 15W MacBook Air) - odd to update this model and not the other one, though, unless the 28W model is ditched entirely as there's now so little difference with the 2019 revisions both being quad core (within a hair of each other on performance) and both having the touch bar.

I think his words were something to the effect of "don't try to extrapolate what we've done with the 16" to other products" - which seems a slightly more robust refutal than the usual "we don't talk about future products" line.

All the reviewers say that it's a terrible laptop with a low resolution display.

ALL the reviews? Each and every one of them? I think not. First, it depends on which version of the 15" Surface Laptop 3 you're referring to: the Ryzen 5 or 7 models or the 10th Gen Intel i7 model. Granted, the Ryzen models leave somewhat to be desired in the performance department. But the i7 models, like the one I have, are very fast and the screen resolution is excellent.

Any review of the 10th gen i7 model I've read are all glowingly positive. And I concur with that as I myself sold my 2019 15" MacBook Pro and bought the i7/16GB/512GB SL3 for $200 less than the MBP.

Ice Lake 15W processors have a maximum base clock of 1.3Ghz. The 28W part has a base clock of 2.3Ghz. Quite a significant difference.
