14" MBP with scissor keyboard *and* MagSafe

Bring back MagSafe!

MagSafe is done. Might be lack of imagination on my part, but I don't see how USB-C works with a MagSafe type mechanism

But regardless, Apple wants to continue the illusion that you do not even need to keep it plugged in during ordinary use, anyway, so it would be a "waste" to have it. That is probably true for the majority of users now, and over time, batteries and energy efficiency are going to continue to improve to where the average user just does not need to keep it plugged in

EDIT: There are a few "after market" USB-C - MagSafe type adapters. You can find them on Amazon. So if its a priority for you, you can DIY

Ice Lake 15W processors have a maximum base clock of 1.3Ghz. The 28W part has a base clock of 2.3Ghz. Quite a significant difference.
Well don't take my word for it, someone's done the comparison and come to the conclusion the performance delta is marginal:

ALL the reviews? Each and every one of them? I think not. First, it depends on which version of the 15" Surface Laptop 3 you're referring to: the Ryzen 5 or 7 models or the 10th Gen Intel i7 model. Granted, the Ryzen models leave somewhat to be desired in the performance department. But the i7 models, like the one I have, are very fast and the screen resolution is excellent.

Any review of the 10th gen i7 model I've read are all glowingly positive. And I concur with that as I myself sold my 2019 15" MacBook Pro and bought the i7/16GB/512GB SL3 for $200 less than the MBP.

I mean, more power to you if you're happier with the Surface, but that machine has a much weaker CPU (and no dedicated GPU at all, so that part is way weaker as well).

Apple today...Hey remember when we had stuff that actually worked years ago, and for some dumb reason we replaced it with a flawed inferior "Upgrade" that had major issues?

Well this year, we're going to fix that, and call them "new features"

Spoiler Alert: Its not. Its a correction!

Dont get me wrong, i am not complaining, im glad they are fixing known problems, and if they release a new Ipad Pro that doesnt bend if you look at it the wrong way, i will buy it the moment i can, but please apple, dont tout your corrections as "New Features" when your older devices had them years ago!

Almost sure it is a new 16“ MBP with replaceable RAM, Dual M.2 NVMe SSD, ports and an Nvidia GPU.
Almost sure ...

I just wish the 13" (or future 14") could be configured to include a dGPU. Its the only reason i have a 2013 15" Pro for the NVIDIA 750GT . I'm happy with a 13"/14" screen but i do sometimes like to play games like Cities Skylines and they need the dGPU to run properly.

People want a 15-inch MacBook Air.
Yep, just like the Surface Laptop which is now available in both 13" and 15" sizes

All the reviewers say that it's a terrible laptop with a low resolution display.
"Low resolution display" yet the PPI is 201... (for reference the 2019 15" MBP had a PPI of 220) ― I think a laptop that's $1200 cheaper (SL3 15 is $1200 vs MBP 15 was $2400) can have 19 lower PPI lol

Actually most of the reviewers said the AMD processors were not up to par with the cheaper Intel counterparts, which is true, however a processor doesn't mean the entire concept of the 15" Surface Laptop is broken (and in fact, Microsoft does sell an Intel variant for businesses)

I don't really care about not having a dedicated GPU because I don't ever play games as I use the laptop for work.

The CPU is a 10th Gen quad-core i7 CPU running 8 independent threads. What is so "much" weaker about that?

I wonder which intel chip they plan to use in this model... the 16" used a cpu that was already a generation old

Where exactly has Apple been touting the keyboard as "new features"?

Having tested out both the Ryzen 5 and Intel i7 versions of the Surface Laptop 3 I can assure you there is a huge difference in performance between the two. As well as WiFi connectivity. The Ryzen 5 bogged down at times whereas the i7 doesn't bog down ever.

I returned to Microsoft the Ryzen 5 model I purchased and exchanged it for the 10th Gen i7 "business" model. I'm very glad I did.

Ridiculous to grow the already big 15.4 to 16" but leave the 13.3" at 13.3
The 15 inch needed to grow to accommodate the better cooling solution, the 13" doesn't have any problems cooling its internals as it is. The 16" display is a product of the size of the base of the machine, not the other way around.

Exactly, why is this so difficult to understand?

Even if this thing uses the latest 10th gen intel chips, my iPad Pro will be more powerful than it, and run cooler. Can we just get on with the ARM transition please.

Bring back MagSafe!
People who want magsafe back go into the same category as people who want Apple to bring back the headphone jack, touch ID, SD card slot, etc. The only thing more certain than the fact that these features are never coming back is the fact that these people will never stop whining about it.

Take my money. I've been waiting for this upgrade. Hope it's a transition to 14" as well!

Will this ignorant stuff ever stop?
