The 2019 13” MBP and the 2018 iPad Pro are close, in GeekBench scores. But that’s a pretty short run as benchmarks go. In real world usage, as soon as the iPad Pro reaches it’s thermal capacity, it’ll throttle and performance will be substantially reduced.Unless they cram 6 cores in there or something: https://www.macrumors.com/2018/11/01/2018-ipad-pro-benchmarks-geekbench/
Yep, that's what the MacBook line really needs. If you prefer performance rather than lightness, then the 16-inch MBP is what you need. But if you prefer lightness over performance while having a relatively big display, then you have no real choice (the MBA is only 13-inch, yet it weighs roughly the same as the 13-inch MBP). However, I don't think Apple will release a 15-inch MBA, because they want to have that kind of customer in the iPad line. A shame.People want a 15-inch MacBook Air.

Of course it makes sense, that's what I said, that the MacBook line really needs a 15'' MBA... but my concern is that they want that kind of customer moving to the iPad instead, so I see the 15'' MBA unlikely.Apple doesn't sell any touch screen device beyond 13” so it makes sense to release a 15” MBA in the market.

Apple uses displays somewhere around 220-230 ppi. The 16” MBP display has a resolution of 3072 x 1920. A 14” MBP display would be somewhere around 2688 x 1680.It is redundant to make it 14” if Apple doesn't use 4K resolution. Most newer ultrabooks offer better screen resolution than 13” MBP.
Well a 14” screen isn’t all that much bigger than 13.3”, so yeah, the increase is relatively small. It is considered a negligible increase in resolution compared to other newer models of Ultrabooks.
What’s untrue? I don’t understand your point. That's completely untrue. The base model of Apple laptops are typically opted for higher spec than any ultrabook in the last decade.
That's true, but I don't see it happening, at least for this release. It is redundant to make it 14” if Apple doesn't use 4K resolution. Most newer ultrabooks offer better screen resolution than 13” MBP.
Even if this thing uses the latest 10th gen intel chips, my iPad Pro will be more powerful than it, and run cooler. Can we just get on with the ARM transition please.

I would appreciate a 14" 16:10 display though, which I hope will happen.
I hope you mean 256GB. Don’t give Apple any ideas!Wish list:
- scissor keyboard
- base comes with 256 MB of storage
- mag safe (have that on my Surface pro and old Macbook Pro and it's the best)
