Zwift and Fulgaz work really well with my trainer and AppleTV for me.
I've seen Zwift, but it's to cartoony for me. Does Fulgaz automatically change the speed of the video based on your speed, or is just a video?

Currently have the peloton app which is great with my stationary bike. Curious if fitness+ will support Bluetooth cadence sensor like the peloton app

nothing about that at launch... just the data from the apple watch, so heart rate primarly combined with estimate of calorie burn etc.

this is a starting point... if it takes off i could see apple partnering with gym equipment companies (for example a spin bike) that would then talk to your watch and provide extra data but that won't happen this year. they also don't have any live classes yet but all of that could come in time.

Well, I guess I will order an Apple Watch Series 6 now, I have been on Series 2 since they were introduced but Apple in their infinite wisdom and Capitalist Ambition made it such that Fitness+ require an Apple Watch Series 3 or better.

damn!

a lot has changed in 4 years and the series 2 has a vast slower processor and dated bluetooth technology that makes the streaming of your health data a more difficult issue.

Fulgaz, the video is a bit linear but if you have a smart trainer, it will interact (tension on hills, etc).

Zwift is cartoony but honestly, once you're in it, like a group ride, you almost forget.

Ack, my Apple Watch Series 6 just got here. Does the three-month free trial only apply to new Apple Watch purchases made on or after the Fitness+ launch date? Bummer if so.

You should be fine:

Starting September 15, customers who purchase an Apple Watch Series 3 or later will be able to start with three months of Apple Fitness+ free. The offer can be redeemed on your iPhone once Apple Fitness+ is available later this year. Your iPhone and Apple Watch will need to be updated to the latest OS, and you’ll have three months to claim the offer after the first activation of the eligible device.1

I'm curious about working out with my wife. Historically, can't you only have one Apple Watch actively connected to an iPhone or iPad (I know you can link with more than one, but I thought only one could be active)? If 2 of us work out together, will we both see our stats on the screen? Hopefully this isn't designed to be for only one person.

I don't see how they can offer cycling without it. Without cadence, you can't do a spin class. Maybe it's magical somehow...;)

Would be nice if it was available outside English speaking countries too...

They already have! The new Peleton Bike+ supports GymKit for example, and is great.

Most likely it has to do with legal and/or licensing issues.
I don't think so, it's all content produced and owned by Apple. They managed to release Apple TV+ and its (partly licensed, but entirely dubbed and subtitled) content all over the world on day 1, but don't manage to release some fitness videos they filmed themselves?

Still don't understand why this is US speaking countries only. It's almost as if no one else speaks English...
I'd guess that they want to get this up and running and gauge how successful this is - Apple is a US company, after all.

News+ is still only available in just a few markets, for example.

However, I'd imagine that adding workouts in Spanish would be a next logical step for the service. Then after that, the priority order will be on market importance for Apple, I'd suppose.

I'm wondering if the limited country release has to do with music licensing (a la, what Peleton originally got in trouble for). It does seem weird they have such a small initial release...

Interested in the music as well. I have Apple Music and my own set of workout tracks -- not sure if I have to listen to whatever they've got going on during the workout or if I can roll up my own playlists.

Either way, I'm looking forward to it. I do wish I knew what kind of dumbbells were needed so I can order them already. I own 4 different kettlebell-style weights but the dumbbells my husband has are the "big boy" kind where I think his lightest is 15 pounds, haha. I probably need some kinda small 5# or less dumbbells.

Is it already available on the beta?

No. This shows up

I won’t use this unless I can use it on my 50” TV. I have an Apple TV box. Hopefully more smart TVs will adopt airplay. I wonder if Apple could make an app for Roku similar to the TV app or if it requires an Apple chip to work.
Can you not Airplay to your existing Apple TV from your phone. I have a TV3 and that is what I am hoping I can do
