Hard to can someone who owns his own business.

I have zero sympathy for bureaucrats.

When I first started practicing law, I had to send lists of all daily activities for a long time to confirm I was billing and, you know, practicing law.

If I didn't come up with legitimate tasks, I would have been fired or face ethical problems for not properly representing my clients.

So I don't find any of this scandalous. Do you not have a job? Don't your employers expect you to...um...work?
Do you know what a chain of command is? Or reporting to a manager or supervisor?

Do you know where the responses to Musk's "HR" emails are going to? Where is the evidence you bring that it's NOT being fed into some sort of LLM or to a foreign adversary?

What do you make of Musk stating that this email was essentially a test?

Confirmed - was able to replicate using an iPhone 16 Pro and a female speaker. I thought it was amusing that this even found its way in there, but it does look immature on the part of the person(s) involved. The only party conducting an investigation should be Apple - everyone else needs to move along.

Seems to be working perfectly to me. But look out Apple. You may get hit with a Tariff. The "Apple Tax" will become a reality for being so naughty!

Pretty sure that's just Apple Intelligence working as intended. But saying that there's a "phonetic overlap between the two words" makes no sense. Regardless, Trump isn't going to like this. Tim will have to console him probably
And send him a couple million dollars as hush money to shut him up I reckon.

And this is why AI and similar products can't be blindly trusted. No matter how good it gets someone is programing it and injecting bias, either on purpose or unintentionally . All humans are flawed and will put their flaws into the programming when it comes to something like AI that appears to think for itself.
While your post is totally right - and will always be I think ---

Apple's models are amongst the most outdated of the industry. If you use ChatGPT for instance, it is like 10X more accurate and would never do such a mistake. Once again, Siri as a whole and dictation options in iOS 19 should be largely improved.

he also claimed that it is not clear if it was added into Apple's code or seeded into data that Apple uses for its AI features.
Looks like they got themselves a needle in a haystack.

It is so discouraging. I’m a conservative and a republican sorta and in the 20 years I’ve been on these forums I’ve never mentioned a single thing about politics. Same for my website Facebook and twitter.

So I came here hoping the top forum post would be something like “this is an unacceptable joke from an employee and it is wrong regardless of the party or one’s beliefs. I should have known better. Nothing like educated people making six figures acting like the people I read about in Bill Gates memoir this afternoon in the second chapter. We probably won’t learn who it was for years from now, but considering this didn’t happen in 2016–2020 I doubt it is accidental.

On a lighter note I wish people who can hack Siri can make Apple Podcasts stay in sync across my devices. Other than lacking an FTP that forces me to Transmit, Podcasts is the one default app that is unusable for me because it is so broken.

You're quite quick to jump to conclusions when Apple themselves isn't even sure if it's the code or the dataset.
A prank is more likely than a biased dataset because Apple’s voice dictation relies on extensive, neutral language models trained on diverse data. If ‘Trump’ were consistently replaced with ‘racist,’ it would suggest intentional tampering rather than an accidental correlation in the dataset. Given Apple’s control over its AI systems, a prank —such as user-submitted corrections, or local manipulation — is a more plausible explanation than systemic bias in the training data.

Follow the conversation, are we talking about the capital? 🤦‍♂️
No, we’re talking about a bunch of right wingers trying to make it seem like the left is having an epic meltdown. Glass houses, stones, you know

Also this is likely the model, not someone individually doing this anyway, so the right wing faux outrage over this is particularly silly

How do you figure? I'm using like 70-something gb on my 16 Pro.

Not a good move for Apple - only helps prove trumper conspiracy theories right. No way they find who snuck that in.
I'm going to say it was this guy:
