You might feel differently if you had an investment that huge corporation. Although the market itself was up, it looks like the "bricking news" is having less than zero effect on APPL - closing at >156. At this rate, they'll be buying me my next BMW.
Actually, Apple doesn't really need defending, as they haven't done anything wrong. Some unlock methods still work. Killing off 3rd party software installed through hacks is fallout from the security and bug fixes. Those who chose to make unsupported modifications (against the EULA) were warned - TWICE.
