Tell me about it - there are some people here that think a huge, dripping-in-money corporation needs defending! Hilarious!

;)

You might feel differently if you had an investment that huge corporation. Although the market itself was up, it looks like the "bricking news" is having less than zero effect on APPL - closing at >156. At this rate, they'll be buying me my next BMW. :)

Actually, Apple doesn't really need defending, as they haven't done anything wrong. Some unlock methods still work. Killing off 3rd party software installed through hacks is fallout from the security and bug fixes. Those who chose to make unsupported modifications (against the EULA) were warned - TWICE.

First, I agree with Apple's position that you are in violation of the terms of the user agreement. That said I have a big problem with them keeping tabs on who's been naughty and who's been nice. That is an invasion of privacy and people have a right to know when "big brother" is watching them. Heck, I've hacked my own phone and know the risks but that should be my choice. You break it it's not Apple's problem. You violated the terms now go away but keeping lists of serialized numbers that are being tracked to personal account information is crossing the line on their end and I don't agree with that.

If they have to provide support for your phone, isn't the serial number necessary to know who bought which phone?
