Good God...

This news, along with Apple trading at the rate of highest most valuable company, with new iphones and a new smaller iPad on the near horizon??!!

Apple is now on hallowed grounds in the American, even worldwide lexicon. Thinking McDonalds here... like Uber-Brand. Hard to imagine ions ago fighting our way through a PC world. I've had a Mac SE20, then Powerbook 100, IIsi, 165c, 1400C, numerous iMac's (and I'm 42 years old).

It's really becoming hard to explain to the kids that for 25 years Apple was a fringe company that made great products- but existed on the margins, doesn't seem like that long ago that Sun Microsystems was contemplating BUYING APPLE!

Looks like the visitors are receiving a gift. What is it? Is the gift an explanantion for the size of the crowd?

 :D

My local Apple store was like a zoo on Sunday. People were literally lining up trying to speak to members of staff and buy things. I only went in there to buy a shuffle.. took 15 minutes just to speak to a member of staff.

I work at a Apple Re-seller / Specialist store and I had a customer today who came from our local Apple store and was told that she could buy Snow Leopard from us if she wanted it or she could just buy Mountain Lion and install that.

Where is your local Apple Store?

Well you are very fortunate

i agree. a few weeks ago my brand spanking new macbook pro 13 i7 died on me after i plugged a usb device in. i knew it was the logic board. i told the guy at the genius bar that it was the logic board. he told me they would replace the magsafe connector because the charging light was fading. but i explained it charged fine before and it wasn't a power issue. so he said he would have the tech look at the logic board.

when i got my macbook back it started up fine then again a usb device killed. i went back to the apple store yet again. this time they just said they would give me a new one because it didn't make any sense in replacing the logic board because it was new.

i don't mind getting a new one. however i hadnt backed up anything yet because it was new and i had quit a bit of things on it.

why couldn't they just repair it instead of giving me a new one?

I'm impressed that the Apple guys are willing to give you a complete new unit.
I work at an Apple Premium Reseller and we have this damn f#$king policy of doing 7 day goods exchange period from the date of purchase should any hardware issues surface.
I've already seen quite a few incidents of customers who bought their MBPretina and some hardware problem came up, but because he or she missed the 7 days thingie by even ONE day, my store refused to allow an exchange.
I'd sure hope Apple would open more retail stores so to put these s h i t hole resellers out of business:(

What is there about an Apple store that would bother a hypochondriac?

Let's see, there's the:

1. Dozens of other humans packed in a relatively small space (usually) breathing down your neck.

2. Electronics with surfaces that thousands of other people have been touching all day and every day.

3. The kids area.

Perhaps you should check the definition of hypochondriac.
