I think the name is great if true. It’s not cringy. It’s simple and clean.

I think this may be a flop.
Saving this for future reference. Just like the “Apple Watch will be a flop” comments from 2015.

I guess they leak stuff to test the waters of things but I wish it was kept quiet until release. It makes the real announcement kind of boring.
If you’re trying to avoid leaks to retain announcement-day excitement, then you’re on the wrong site my friend.

They could’ve been more unique with the name because now it looks like they’re copying Google. Exciting stuff though.

There is literally no way in the world that these are going to be called 'Glass'. It's one thing for Apple to rip off a feature, but I honestly can't fathom their marketing department copying so blatantly. You're just going to have the same resurgence of the 'glasshole' pejorative, etc. It's an incredibly bad look.

What I don't get about this, is what exactly does it does better than the iPhone or the Watch?

Getting notifications directly on your field of vision, without having to see your phone or watch is the only advantage I can think of.

I think what I find more interesting here, and with other recent leaks from Prosser, isn’t the products or info itself, but more so, who are these people inside Apple leaking this kind of detailed information - prices, product names, etc. Kind of stuff that traditionally was easier to keep secret.

How is this new and innovate now? Ever heard of Google?

It’s new and innovative because Apple possesses all the right ingredients to make glasses succeed, unlike Google, who not only bungled their own implementation, but may have possibly poisoned the well with regards to smart glasses for many years.

The Apple Glasses is likely going to contain numerous technologies that enable its unique user experience in a way other companies can’t. We have seen this in how Apple is able to put their own spin on things, from W1 chip to custom processors to their expertise in miniaturisation (AirPods) to emphasis on power efficiency (iOS).

Apple controls the hardware and software, so this will likely be integral to allowing the glasses to offload as much of their processing to the iphone.

Apple is also a very popular consumer brand, and its customers are likely more open to trying out product categories which may have been subject to more skepticism had they been released by another company. Just think of the number of celebrities who will be willing to wear Apple Glasses just because it’s an Apple product and it’s pretty much going to market itself.

$499 is a very competitive price that will allow for wider adoption with the first generation.

All the ingredients are there to make Apple Glasses a resounding success with the public, if and when this product launches.

I really hope when these do launch, that they don’t look like tech glasses! Less google glass and more just every day glasses look! Would massively add to the appeal for me!

So I look at someone and his name appears above his face, on the left I see how we are associated and on the right all of his family informations? This old geezer really needs to carry his memory on his phone, sign me up.

promising stuff - always wanted a hud and camera in my glasses
they better look stylish and not resemble ar goggles
smart to interface with iphone (a computer in your pocket)
rx option is a must
future versions should have morphing optics for vision correction and magnification and telescopic capabilities - that would be so cool

I wonder what accessibility features will this glasses have. Would they be able to zoom in stuff? It would be great not only for visual impaired people but also for AR

Besides the AR capabilities that Google's didn't have, Google screwed up by making something that screams "I'm a tech nerd, please call me a glasshole!". Apple's version will surely look more like traditional glasses and won't turn off non-tech nerds. Apple's way of doing it is how eventually wind up getting millions of people, including those who don't need to wear glasses, wearing your glasses.

How did I forget about glasshole? Lol
Yeah that’s a good point. I forgot all about that.
I wonder if they will offer health sensors like the watch does?

I hadn't thought about non-glasses people but yeah, I can't see myself wanting to buy these if I didn't need glasses already. Fortunately since these can come with a prescription they will by default replace my current pair. That's an easy $1000 squeeze out of me that I can't really argue with. Why would I not want futuristic glasses that I can customize to be like regular glasses if a workplace environment deems these "too distracting".
I only need reading glasses so do I count? You would think that with all that LIDAR and smart sensor technology, we could get a pair of clear lenses that mechanically shift when they sense an object or reading surface a few feet away from my eyes. Kind of like an autofocus. That would be the killer app for Apple Glasses because I would never need to take them off.

Obviously right now this is all speculation and rumor but one thing I want to know is will this product be an all-encompassing eyeglass or just for one eye? While google glass was interesting, one of its problems was that it was only for one eye. And of course it was for the eye that I can't see out of.
