It won’t be a mini, just stop. 😤 The mini is too luxe/premium for a budget SE. Apple probably would have stopped selling the 13 mini by now if that were the plan.

I’m sure there are other production lines/parts they can use at a lower cost instead, which will likely be the objective here.

No OLED please unless Apple can fix the PWM issue. The best would be if it were just based off the 8 Plus. 2nd best would be if was based on the XR/11.

Why would you want another 8 plus with the older square edge display style?

Big phone-lovers have the world. Myriads upon myriads of options. And now they get yet another option, while the one somewhat small option that small phone-lovers have left (phone that is still being updated) is being taken away.
Throw small phone-lovers a bone, Apple. Maybe make an SE and SE Plus if you really want to sell a big SE.

And let’s keep at least one Touch ID phone. It’s better than Face ID for some situations and for some people.

If they make it larger than 6 inches, they'll lose most of the market for it. Potential buyers don't want a huge phone.

If they didn't want to keep iPhone users at lower price points, they never would have created the SE price point. Putting too many expensive components into it, such as OLED, will drive the cost further upward.

I'll buy one if the notch is the same size as the 13. Not going to to spend $1K on the 14 Pro unless work picked up a bunch.

If they go OLED, you can pretty much expect it to be way more than $429, expect it to jump to 599, especially with inflation.
The iPhone 12 currently starts at $599. If Apple took the same form factor, put only a single rear camera lens instead of dual, and upgraded the SoC to the A15, I can't see why they won't be able to achieve the $499 price point.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. A 6.1" SE is a terrible idea for Apple unless the size of the regualar iPhone increases. Most non-techies will choose a phone by price and screen size. If they see a 6.1" SE for $450 with an A16 chip and a 6.1" iPhone 15 for $799 with an A16 chip which one do you think they will choose?

they won't return to rounded design imo ... they'll use iPhone 12(mini)/13 mini body and display (not regular 13)

A 6.1 inch lcd based off the XR is the only real logical option. A 6.1 inch oled would harm the sales of the non pro line and creating a brand new 5.7 inch form factor wouldn’t make sense considering the history of the SE. Using the 5.4 inch chassis would make more sense then the 5.7.
