I've said it before and I'll say it again. A 6.1" SE is a terrible idea for Apple unless the size of the regualar iPhone increases. Most non-techies will choose a phone by price and screen size. If they see a 6.1" SE for $450 with an A16 chip and a 6.1" iPhone 15 for $799 with an A16 chip which one do you think they will choose?
A 6.1 inch lcd based off the xr with huge bezels and a single camera won’t eat into the sales of the regular 15 the same way the 12 still broke records despite the xr and the 11 being around. That xr design was dated back in 2020 nevermind in 2024. However if it ends up being 6.1 inch with oled and a modern design then I agree.

Please make an iPhone SE with the X body and an 5.7” LCD screen 🤞🏻
Steel production is $$$.

More likely to stick with the cheap aluminum of the 12/13/14, and swap out the pricy faceid modules, for the cheapo ipad touchid side button.
Cheaper nonOLED screen makes sense as well.

Please let it be a mini, please let it be a mini, please let it be a mini...
The mini was only even decent and considerable, because it shared the features and processing power of the mainstream iphone 12/13 of the time.

A mini with castrated features... is going to be widely shunned. It is going to need a least middle of pack screen size for consumers at large to pick up on it.

No OLED please unless Apple can fix the PWM issue. The best would be if it were just based off the 8 Plus. 2nd best would be if was based on the XR/11
Yes give us the SE+ you stated when the SE2 came out. 8+ with better parts keeping Touch. Don't even see the point of getting SE if not touch anymore. Will be the same as some other phone in the lineup

The whole selling point of the SE is that it has most of the features and the same processing power as the base iPhone that launched six months earlier at a much lower cost. A mini form factor SE would have the same feature set and processing power as the 14, just with, I don't know, an older camera I guess. I'd hardly call that castrated.

At least, not any more so than the 14 already is...

No reason to go bigger. iPhone SE should only attract the market that admires the iPhone Mini.
I bought the original SE because I hated the 6 design and was going to hold onto my 5s until it died. The surprise announcement of the 6s chipset in the superior design and smaller form factor sold me on it. It’s the same reason I bought the Mini.

BUT the vast majority who bought the SE just wanted the cheapest phone. That’s why it’s now in the hideous, oversized iPhone 6/7/8 design.

If this were to launch in 2024, wouldn't it then be based on the base-model 15?

Given it's a 2024 product, I don't see how it could be anything less than 6.1-inches.

5.7-inch would be like 4.7-inch today. Way too small for the target market

Wow, "Super Followers"? People want us to pay them money to see their tweets now?

WTF is going on with Twitter? And apparently this wasn't even Elon's doing. It's definitely the kind of thing he'd go for though.

I can’t believe I’ll say this…but just keep it the same, add the new processor, and call it a day and profit off the old form factor if we want to keep costs down.

I have a slight bias for Touch ID as do some people that don’t like Face ID. I guess it depends on costs of the components.
