It's called Democracy
It's called mob rule.

Those bleating about democracy, seem to either ignore, or not understand how constitutional democracy works. And wants to give full power to a single individual and bypass parliament altogether.

The public has NO say in a referendum, it's simply an opinion poll. You give your authority to vote to the member of parliament that you elected to represent your constituency in the houses of parliament. But many simply don't understand, or want to follow this. Constitutional Democracy is NOT mob rule.

Which is quite ironic, those who revert to "It's democracy", want to do everything they can to not follow the UK Democratic system.

I’m good thanks. Usually go out of my way to NOT buy from the CrApp Store.

It’s called democracy. It’s a situation where others have the power to vote in a party you don't like.

This is disappointing from Apple as the weak pound is only part of the story. Whilst it certainly will negatively impact their UK App Store revenues in dollar terms, it will also positively affect their wage bill for UK based employees and a number of other business transactions that they convert the other way, it probably doesn't balance out 100% but it won't be as bad as Apple would like us to believe.

This is purely an opportunistic way to for Apple to blame a price increase on something that doesn't make Apple look bad. As we Brits say, the proof will be in the pudding, as I can guarantee when the Pound corrects to pre-Brexit levels Apple will not decrease the price back down again.

No we won't. I admire your positive attitude but your statement flies in the face of common sense.

Dropping a rather good trade deal with 500 million people is sheer lunacy. Looking to America, New Zealand, India, China for trade deals is pure desperation, we know that, they know that and they will be dictating terms. Point 1 of those terms will be "Bend over you naughty boy!"

We became the fifth largest economy IN THE WORLD, despite or in spite of our EU membership.

Everyone wants to trade with us as it 20% off all stock time, the yard sale to end all yard sales. They will buy our businesses, control our infrastructure and work to permanently divert profits abroad. Over time we will successfully have sold off all our family silver, over time we will have to work our socks off to become as well off.

That said, my words aren't very constructive. We are all leavers now and arguing against crazy decisions only serves to make me look and feel crazy.

The UK existed and did pretty well long before the EU and will continue to do so. The rest of the world does alright outside of the EU and we will too. I'm absolutely sure and confident about that.

Not sure who you've been speaking to, but the people I have had conversations with voted to leave so that we could resolve the issue of MASS immigration into a tiny island which was vastly changing the landscape of towns and local communities. Also theres always a suggestion that stupid people voted leave yet I know of Doctors and Solicitors who voted out. Not everyone is a racist, many people of voted leave are perfectly happy to have foreign people reside in the UK, I think it was the sheer volume that was the real issue.
Well said my friend. I voted to leave. I'm not a racist and I enjoy the diversty of the UK, however it has changing at a pace like never seen before. We want the cream of society to come here to live in harmony with our culture and beliefs and respect the UK native citizens. We're a small nation but we have big hearts and we do to like to be dictated to by those EU bureaucrats whom have lost touch with their out of date thinking.
Countries have borders for a reason. History has taught us this over centuries. People just can't get on with their crazy religious views and different standpoints. The border is there to help segregate and maintain peace. Removing this is dangerous!

Mob rule according the the liberals who are only tolerant when everyone else agrees with them. They would be saying it was democracy at its finest if the result went the other way.

This whole Apple currency conversion system stinks. 0.99 USD is still 0.80 GBP and when you as Brit buy apps from a British developer, then Apple should not need to convert anything. Same for all Euro developers/customers. But no. You cannot ripoff people – in this case a few cents – without this currency conversion trick.

We're still at the top, looking over the cliff, when article 50 is announced we'll be getting a push in the back over the edge. Recovery is a distant aspiration.

And there we have the bottom line of many Brexit supporters.

A hatred/fear of brown people...

It probably goes to Ireland, so there will be an FX rate involved, £ to €.
Remind me again... how many of the recent terrorist attacks were carried out by someone called John Smith from Manchester??? Exactly my point. I'm not racist in any way or form, but to try and dissociate any common link between a religion and a a group of people is just naive.
All I'm saying is, come to the UK, but bring along your western ideologies too!

It is democracy when your elected representative votes in parliament. What about the democracy of Gibraltar? Or Scotland?

Giving power to a prime minister, allowing them to bypass parliament is NOT democracy. We will leave the EU, that is certain. But ignoring the legal democratic system, and allowing an individual to bypass parliament is a dangerous precedent to set.

We have to add VAT on to the cost.

The last bombs to be set off 0.5 miles from my house were actually from Ireland, the last bombs to kill children in my home town centre were from Ireland too. Oh, and they are Christian.

I imagine the British developers will still be paying the Apple subscription costs in dollars though.

Don’t want to get too far off tack but, Yes. You elect them to make decisions on your behalf.

Scotland is part of the UK! The UK is leaving the EU. I don't find it that difficult to get my head around.

Which is why this has to go through parliament still. I accept that we're leaving. But it HAS to follow the legal system. Or it is a dangerous precedent for future governments, which is what I object to.

They didn't vote to leave though. Neither did a nation in the south of Spain. How does this affect their ability to work, and trade with Spain?

Who doesn't buy apps? You need apps to work, you need apps to play. Unless you're pirating everything, if so you'd be a stingy douche not rewarding the developers' hard work.

All the apps I have were free. Or I got them when they were made free temporarily. I have to really need an app to pay for it. I have never pirated anything, ever.

Wait, in another article, all I heard from Apple people is that the developer sets the price. Now, this is saying that Apple sets the price, based on a TIER. So which is it? You can't have your cake and eat it too, either APPLE does set the prices of apps or they don't.

You're just plain wrong.

When the banks blew up the economy it was the poor who suffered most with an instant denial of credit.
When the government had spent all its reserves propping up the economy in 2010, they cut public services by 30%. Those same services are most used by the poorest people.
When the economy bounced back it was geographically limited to London and the South East. The rest of the country remaining worse off than in 2007.

The poor voted for Brexit. They voted because politicians were unable to change the balance to make them happy. They didn't know whether Brexit would help them, they had nothing to lose in trying.

The poor didn't vote to close the borders, they voted to change anything they could because politicians weren't.

Preventing EU free movement of people won't change terrorist behaviour. Any gun toting, lorry driving, idealised narrow minded idiot can wage a war. And if we turn our backs on all of those Europeans who have come to the UK to help rebuild our economy we might just make a few more fundamentalists.

That raises two points in my mind.

1) Are you sure? Cos a heck of a lot of the people interviewed on telly seemed pretty clear it was about immigrants. I can't speak much from personal experience in that regard, being an "urban elite" (albeit a northern one) I don't know many people who'll admit to having voted brexit. Of the two I do know, one's very intelligent but has utterly failed to explain what his reasons were (though he's made clear it's neither money nor immigrants), the other's thick and doesn't make any sense at all.

2) "I'm not happy with the status quo so I want any change at all regardless of what it is" is bloody stupid reasoning, and is part of the reason we Bremoaners have a low opinion of the Brexiters, as a whole. If you're lying on a cliff edge and you're uncomfortable cos there's a stone digging into your back, it's not smart to think "I'll just roll to one random side, it's got to be better than this".

Can someone tell me what the average salary is in the USA please, I have checked a few sources and they give fairly wide variance?

Apple today announced changes to its App Store pricing policy in India, Turkey, and the U.K., citing fluctuating foreign exchange rates and taxation changes as reasons behind the move.

In the United Kingdom, Apple is raising the prices for apps and in-app purchases by at least 25 percent, in light of the weak pound exchange rate, which has been down against the dollar by about 19 percent since the Brexit vote.

Apps on sale for $0.99 cents will now cost an equivalent £0.99, rather than £0.79. Apps at price Tier 2 will cost £1.99, up from £1.49, with similar equivalent hikes for higher tiers and in-app purchases. Subscription prices will not be affected.

In India, a service tax of 14 percent as well as levies of 0.5 percent were introduced by the government from December 1, 2016. In Romania, the tax rate has increased from 19 to 20 percent. In Russia, a value added tax (VAT) rate of 18 percent has been introduced. Apple will submit the collected revenue to authorities on developers' behalf.

Apple's email notification to developers today covered the iOS and Mac App Store, but price increases are likely to come into effect across iTunes purchases like TV shows and movies. In October, Apple hiked Sterling prices across its Mac lineup for similar reasons.

The App Store price increases are set to go live in the next seven days. The announcement comes on the same day U.K. inflation surged to 1.6 percent, an increase put down to rises in air fares and the price of food, as well as prices for motor fuels.
