Every single tech news source is very nice for Apple because Apple only makes very nice products. It's very simple.
You are not reading what I am saying.

Yes apple has nice products but they still have flaws, flaws most other sites usualy comment on but anandtech usualy said very little over.

I am not saying he was very biased but he did tend to forgive apple more then others. Which is why this switch to me(and to plenty others) wasnt a suprise .

Samsung spends 10x more than Apple on advertising. Why aren't people like Anand always very nice for them? Well, for starting things up they cheated on benchmarks, and they just do not make very nice products.

Thats largely BS but it shows you certainly are biased against samsung .

So apple basically hired him to stop exposing to the public how weak their tech is

What is he going to do there? Nothing but say he's now an apple employee and must keep quite

This news makes me just as happy as when I heard that they picked JJ Abrams for the new Starwars movies :)

What flaws en't mentioned on those reviews?

No, it isn't BS, it's all factual. You are the biased one.

So how bad did Apple do in his previous reviews, if he is so good at exposing weaknesses?

I remember that in the aricle he lists the pro's extensivly, but not the cons like increases app size more memory usage, apps not adapted,...

Same as he goes on how apple dominated the market for years or had an head start for years (or something like that) or that how the GPU is always far superior because the others are incapable,...

But no matter what I say you wont accept it and he will be the perfect reviewer, and for apple he is .

"As for the actual figures, Samsung splashed about $363 million on US phone ads, down 10 percent from 2012’s cost of $401 million. Samsung was also the only smartphone company to cut its advertising budget last year. Apple, on the other hand, spent around $351 million on phone advertising in 2013, up 5 percent from $333 million in the previous year. As a side note, Apple spent more on TV ads in 2013 than it spent on all advertising in 2012."

If you have other numbers do give them on samsung and apple smartphone ad spending do give them.

You are the biased one.
Sure thats why I have samsung and apple devices .

Wow! This is amazing news.
It was all thanks to Anand a couple of years ago that I discovered there existed such a thing as the iPad 2,4. With his help and that of some awesome people out there in the online community I managed to get hold of one for myself. :D

Funny and interesting that a couple of years ago I went to a particular Apple store and asked them about the iPad 2,4 and the female employee told me there was no such thing and then so blindly advised me "not to believe everything you read on the internet". LOL And now Anand, who she said "you can't believe this guy, who is he anyway?", is being employed by Apple. It's so funny how things pan out in life. People want to mock you even though you have the facts and the evidence and then as karma would have it, those people just end up with some serious egg on their face. LOL :p

I don't give the rumors a lot of credence, but it isn't too hard to switch foundries as long as you know what foundry you are going to use before you start to design the chip (that is before you start the physical design).

Once you know what foundry you are using, you get the preliminary design rules and can start designing the cell library and the macrocells.

The only other problem is the die size. That's the only thing that keeps Intel profitable. Only certain foundries can provide reliable yields as your die size gets smaller.

There aren't very many foundries and no one has a consistent yield advantage from process node to process node. Pretty much everyone uses tsmc, umc, or globalfoundries/charter. A few use IBM (who make it a real pain with their pricing and outdated toolset and terminology). No one uses samsung, so it always surprised me that Apple does. Intel is a new option, but I have no idea how easy they make it or what their pricing looks like.

At one node tsmc may have the best yield, and umc may have the best next time. when you are going to be the first product on the line, it's hard to base your decision on yield since there is rarely enough data. Apple will often be the first product the foundry produces on a particular node.

Obviously you realize that you only focussed on a single segment of a single country, right?

About the rest, stating the obvious (apple devices have superior CPU and GPU performance on ON SCREEN tasks) and saying that the benefits far outweight the negatives about 64 bit are only the truth. What is your problem?

Yes, you are biased and samsung sells inferior products.

I don't get this joke....

Anand is a hardware guy that has ran a hardware site for 17.5 years... why the ****** would Apple NOT want to use his expertise in that area?
And instead put him in an area that he presumably knows nothing about & they already have a competent employee handling (Sir Ives).

Ive was a hardware designer for 15 years... why the ****** would Apple put him in an area that he presumably knows nothing about?

They are among the best in class but even they have flaws or downsides and somehow those always got missed or glossed over.

I disagree. I've found that the reviews on Anandtech did a great job of pointing out positives and negatives. Unlike so many sites, they did not try to paint as a catastrophe every minor flaw or down-side in an Apple product (or any product).

You may recall the insane ramblings on other sites about the minor iPhone antenna problem, where they predicted it would be the end of Apple, calling it things like "Antennagate" when, in fact, it turned out to be a total non-issue for most owners (including me).

So all that sucking up to Apple all these years has finally paid off..

He was actually doing that earlier clandestinely.. Now he will do it openly. I hope Anandtech gets out of this guys clutches and starts objective reporting atleast now since this guy has left the publication. Looks like it will be adistant dream.

Do you have an example of something that wasn't objective in his reporting?
