"Live video from out special event will be right here. And so will a whole lot more."

But what does it mean?!

Suspense - it's kind of the whole point that they don't tell you - not sure if you got that?

But But how can they fit a WHOLE LOT MORE on the live event page?!? What can they possibly be putting on that page?!?

There will be video from the special event (it'll be live, so you can watch it as it occurs, minus the transmission delay), plus there will be an added amount than what that above sentence entails.

(ok, enough snarking)

I don't know either, but I'm looking forward to it!

Just wondering if anybody has considered the idea that Apple has finally made those connections with the cable/media companies ?

Hello ? Live ?

wink wink..nudge nudge.

See that big clock that is decrementing? Keep watching it, and see how you feel in 9 hours - if you're awake enough, just stare at it for the remainder of the countdown, then you'll know ;)

The end of the world. ;)

For Samsung...

LOL

It's a countdown to "Argh, I HATE the new design" troll posts...

I can guarantee you one thing - being on macrumors, tomorrow, is right at the VERY VERY VERY VERY bottom of my list of sites I want to be at... this is the LAST place I want to be - it's just a "good enough" stop-gap for laughs, whilst we wait.

I'll be elsewhere, whilst you poor folks who remain will have to endure the moronic comments pouring in in torrents...

Hah! :D

I will be away from my PC as well. :)

This is the first time that I can remember that Apple is making such a big deal about their live streaming event.

It's true -- this is rare. It's either a huge miscalculation for them to hype it up this much or they're really going to blow expectations out of the water.

Wow.. Just read that.

"The auditorium is crawling with 24-hour security personnel. Anyone working at the massive show, from caterers to construction staff and technicians, is required to submit their phones to Apple’s security team. The phones’ cameras are being covered in special tamper-proof tape, which changes color if removal is attempted.
“If it changes color, we’ll be fired on the spot,” said one person who is working at the show but asked to remain anonymous.
In addition, Apple security personnel are carefully scrutinizing the phones for unauthorized pictures or messages, looking for any attempts to communicate details of the event to the outside.
“We were told that we should erase anything embarrassing from our phones because security will be going through them with a fine-tooth comb,” the person said."

Precisely. It's almost impossible to imagine they can live up to this hype.

One question, not that it applies to me as I can watch it fine.

But, it still puzzles me, as, on the face of it, it appears like Apple behaving like a child.

Why does it restrict the even to those with Apple computers running Safari?

Why not just stream it in the clear for everyone?

Is there a reason, other then being childish and petty?

Can you imagine say Microsoft only streaming to PC's running Internet Explorer?

I'm curious.

Aussies

If you're in Australia, this happens at 3am EST for Sydney/Melbourne etc and 1am WST for Perth. And that's on Wednesday Sept 10th of course.

Go to bed early and set your alarm clocks! :D

Has anyone ever watched an Apple keynote on LTE? Wonder how much data it would eat up, and if the audio would at least be smooth. Have a meeting until 10am PDT, and want to watch on my Apple TV afterwards, but would love to catch the audio during my drive home instead of starting from the beginning 20 minutes late... Particularly since the beginning part is going to be nothing new for at least the first 10 mintues.
