So no news tomorrow regarding Yosemite, Mac Mini (or any macs for that matter) or AppleTV???

It's true -- this is rare. It's either a huge miscalculation for them to hype it up this much or they're really going to blow expectations out of the water.

And no matter how cynical many of us have become about Apple's over-hype and under-delivery, I think we are all hoping for the latter..

In fact, I think we NEED the latter. Something just awesome.

It's hard to imagine the possibility that any other event on earth can match the importance of what will be unveiled tomorrow. The world will stop for these announcements.

They should sell advertising time.. For important stuff like running for President or declaring war... Since they have everybody's attention....

One question, not that it applies to me as I can watch it fine.

But, it still puzzles me, as, on the face of it, it appears like Apple behaving like a child.

Why does it restrict the even to those with Apple computers and/or running safari?

Why not just stream it in the clear for everyone?

Is there a reason, other then being petty?

Can you imagine say Microsoft not steaming an even to people with Apple computer and only windows users running Internet Explorer.

I'm curious.

"Behaving like a child" - what, you mean because they're sensible by not wasting time, money and resources trying to test their streams on every conceivable platform and/or device known to mankind? That's not childish, that's common sense - they want to sell Apple products, and they aren't OBLIGED to stream on non-Apple products... or have I missed something?

Deal with it, and watch it on iTunes/elsewhere, after the fact.

Wow.. Just read that.

"The auditorium is crawling with 24-hour security personnel. Anyone working at the massive show, from caterers to construction staff and technicians, is required to submit their phones to Apple’s security team. The phones’ cameras are being covered in special tamper-proof tape, which changes color if removal is attempted.
“If it changes color, we’ll be fired on the spot,” said one person who is working at the show but asked to remain anonymous.
In addition, Apple security personnel are carefully scrutinizing the phones for unauthorized pictures or messages, looking for any attempts to communicate details of the event to the outside.
“We were told that we should erase anything embarrassing from our phones because security will be going through them with a fine-tooth comb,” the person said."

And the TSA will be there so be prepared for pat downs and cavity searches.
LOL :p

Has anyone ever watched an Apple keynote on LTE? Wonder how much data it would eat up, and if the audio would at least be smooth. Have a meeting until 10am PDT, and want to watch on my Apple TV afterwards, but would love to catch the audio during my drive home instead of starting from the beginning 20 minutes late... Particularly since the beginning part is going to be nothing new for at least the first 10 mintues.

Can't say how much data I ate up, but it was surprisingly very smooth on LTE. Audio was completely fine, and video was very good as well. I could read the text on the slides just fine too. No worse than streaming from any other video app to me.

Anyone else nervous about how much hype there is? Seems like the hype machine is in full effect.

I am... My prayer is that what they present measures up to this unprecedented buzz and hype.
If they do it will be an unforgettable historic day.

I hope this hype and buzz has been deliberately and justifiably planned by apple. Or it may work against them.

What has Apple done, exactly, to generate any hype? lol

It's ALL been hyped up by the media and MR!

All Apple has done is kept their product secret and sent out a gray and white invitation picture, hahaha

Wow!

There's definitely something huge coming tomorrow. I believe mother nature has seen something similar, before:

Apples marketing machine certainly has me excited, regardless of how ugly that new phone looks. Im sure they have something amazing up their sleeve and that Ill cave and buy it regardless of its protruding lens and monster bezel.

Old Apple: Very little hype and then at the end, "just one more thing"...and unveiling of a revolutionary product by SJ.

New Apple: Lots of hype and then .... unveiling of new Emoji's, refinements to "look and feel" of OS, minor spec bumps, elimination of "old" I/O ports, more social network integration, and more cloud tie-ins.

I pray I am wrong.....

Motog.. He has a point... Dont brush it off like it is nonsense.
Apple biggest growth will come from people who dont use apple products yet.. and apple is choosing to leave them out of the live presentation.
Definitely does not compute... But then again who knows what their thinking behind this is ! .??
