We swear into office a man and a party that has as their stated goal of tearing down what King began and so many of us have worked for.
From King's 1963 speech: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by their character."

One party has done exactly the opposite of that statement. Thanks the SCOTUS decision, universities can no longer bias their admissions based on skin color.

Can you tell us exactly what "stated goal" you're talking about? Where exactly was it stated? Your venom is drowning in vagueness. Don't do that.

It is appropriate that today is Blue Monday.
AFAICT, it's called that -- in exactly one place. "Blue Monday" was invented by a UK travel agency in order to drum up business. Pardon us if we fail to attach any significance to the travel agency's lousy marketing campaign. You do know that Sky Travel went belly up ~20 years ago, right?

"I didn't vote for [candidate XXX] because I didn't want to see them inaugurated on Blue Monday."
--nobody ever

"...will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Fixed it!

On the day we honour a true American hero that worked for justice and freedom for all people,
We swear into office a man and a party that has as their stated goal of tearing down what King began and so many of us have worked for.

It's nice to know that there's still a few sane people left. Thanks for speaking the truth.

King complained that with its “cold atheism wrapped in the garments of materialism, communism provides no place for God or Christ”
I don't see why that would be relevant in any way here though.
You prefer to key on racial and economic divide while ignoring MLK's basic unifying Christian principles and message? There are racists and greed driven individuals of all colors, political beliefs, and classes. :)

A certain orange nut later today "I did more for the black community than King ever did"
Little early for you guys to be out and at it again, yes? Give it a rest.

See, you interpreted my choice of quotes as if I took them for personal preference while I posted something that was relevant in the context of Apple trying to use his most generic quotes to convey an agreeable corporate image while being evil according to his own words. Which adds to how much Apple sucks.
I didn't want to open an absolute debate over MLK, just relative to Apple. And, if I did, I wouldn't do that as if his words were the Gospel. I agree with some things he said (many, actually) and disagree with others, but discovering his real thought should not dictate what we think.

I agree we should all just be on one side but until the situation is of utter inequality and oppression, we must also fight that oppression. Not only MLK would agree this conflict is real and necessary (if that's the most important thing) but the people who killed him surely proved that.

"Let's all love each other and stop fighting against oppression" surely wasn't his message.

King didn’t stand for DEIA, which is wholly Marxist.

Oppression, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Love each other and stop fighting isn't a bad way to interpret or honor MLK's context.

It’s a striking layout on the page honoring a person who caused a seismic shift.

And the inauguration will hopefully signify the start of a new dawn for the US.
Yeah, the dawn of decline and failure brought on by the selfish and the ignorant.

I gave you direct quotes, I don't know what to say anymore. Think that's a terrible way to interpret and honour his spirit. It's taking a huge dump on his grave.
