It is not about Tidal - it is about the artists.
Thr point's name is Beyoncé.What's the point of acquiring one more irrelevant company? They are the Beats headphones of streaming.
Apple generally asks for 24/96 already and has been for a while (since mastered for iTunes launched - they encode tracks themselves into AAC). Had they got the licenses, they could switch everything over to MQS.Apple probably threw away all the originals after converting to lossy 256. Too embarrassing to ask for new material from the labels and admit the blunder. Better to buy a competitor with a lossless archive.![]()
Is there any harm to offering it though? Simply offer lossless audio as another option in Apple Music and apart from hosting costs, and what does it matter even if only a few people use said feature?I would highly doubt that Apple would retain the lossless audio of Tidal. Lossless audio is largely a niche market and Apple isn't a niche company. They just want Beyoncé and Kanye exclusives to kill Spotify.
You would be gobsmacked to know just how few people care about "quality sound."No one who cares about quality sound.

Excellent. Now I can listen to lossless versions of overproduced autotune ********. Next up, drinking kool-aid from a wine glass.
I hope so. FLAC audio on lightning headphones must sound nice.
if Bod Dulan released a music service that's what he had bought instead. Thanks iOS updated keyboard for helping me to deliver a clear message. If apple wanted lossless m, they could have used apple lossless for streaming. In fact, they did not even need to buy beats. This would have never happened if Steve jobs was here.
buy them, switch out the Logo and be done with the horrible AM UI. The tidal interface is pretty much the Spotify interface just even better (still won't be using Tidal cuz I hate their business philosophy)
What are you? Five years old?Oh hey there, Kanye. How's that mountain of debt working out?![]()
IMO American music overall is garbage. Russian music is 10 times better with actual lyrics IMO.Kind of interesting how the streaming services have come down to black-artist-owned (Beats and Tidal) and Swedish-owned (Spotify). I think it's reflective of the biggest influences in music today. The most popular music are forms that come from recent inventions in black music like hip-hop, rap, rhythm and blues. And the most popular music is also often produced in and exported from Sweden and still to this day very influenced by ABBA type sounds (I know people don't hear it, but it's there). If you look at the top hits in any one year, a lot of the production takes place in Sweden, a country with a population only the size of Virginia.
Your personal preferences do not render AM interface horrible. Far from it.

Even the beats are better to me.
All we have now are RA RA RA RA Rihanna crap.
Sometimes i wish i grew up in the 70s
Again doesn't mean it's horrible.sure, I am the only person on this planet who complained that's why they redesigned it after one year
Russian, really? of all languages? I can't even stand the sound of it when they talk. can't imagine listening to them sing![]()
