Every time I see an article enumerating the artists these services are fighting to have access to, I'm reminded why I don't care who wins...
did you read the thread opener?Grow some balls Apple, just admit you're trying to gain exclusive artists to your Music. They could care less for "Tidal."
I hope not. I enjoy spotify's add supported service, faster streaming and far superior interface. They should buy Spotify
Backed up does not mean driven by. RAPPERS rule the music world these days. I'm not against it or in favor of it. I'm just stating the facts.
Wow! Apple executives must really love RAP music! They are investing massive amount of money in anything related to this music style.
It's kind of interesting to think that many of these artists have written so much homophobic or sexist stuff.
Before you comment on my post, let me say I don't dislike RAP music or the RAP culture. It's just not favorite.
Stop trying to make Apple Music happen. It isn't going to happen.
How about, instead of acquiring the competition for insane amounts of cash, they actually WORK on the user interface and other issues that make Spotify the #1 streaming service? How's that for an idea? Acquiring a user base isn't going to make your abysmal product any better. This doesn't make sense. Why is Apple not making sense?
Oh hey there, Kanye. How's that mountain of debt working out?![]()
paying 100M (guess) for Tidal's 4Million subs would be a bargain versus paying 3 BILLION for beats. Its a 33% increase in subs, half of those pay double what apple currently charges btw, all of this for an insignificant amount.
Just dont go around paying a billion for it!
Is it possible that the infrastructure is what they are after?

So it's pointless like I statedThe point is to:
(a) acquire an immediate increase of 4.2M paying subscribers
(b) decrease the competitive landscape
(c) strengthen ties with recording artists.
No one who cares about quality sound.Yeah because no one wears Beats branded stuff![]()
The Prince catalog alone is worth the purchase. Jay Z needs money. He even sued the company that sold Tidal to him. Also Prince's estate needs the money. Apple has 178 Billion. Money talks.
Apple is in talks to acquire rapper Jay Z's streaming music service Tidal, reports The Wall Street Journal, citing "people familiar with the matter." The talks are said to be exploratory and "may not result in a deal," but Apple is considering the purchase to bolster its Apple Music service.
A Tidal spokesman told The Wall Street Journal that Tidal executives had not held talks with Apple, and the terms of the deal are unknown.

Tidal, which launched in 2014 and was acquired by Jay Z in January of 2015 before a March 2015 re-launch, is a subscription-based music service that advertises high-quality lossless audio and high-definition music videos. Tidal offers two tiers of service, a standard premium option for $9.99 per month and HiFi for $19.99 per month. Tidal has 4.2 million paying subscribers, and as of March, 45 percent of those subscribers paid extra for the hi-fidelity tier.
Positioned as one of Apple Music's major competitors, Tidal has clashed with Apple in the past. In February, Apple was in talks to exclusively debut Kanye West's album "The Life of Pablo," but West pulled out of talks and opted to debut his album on Tidal.
Tidal's strong connection to artists like Kanye West, Beyonce, and Madonna is one of the reasons Apple is mulling an acquisition. Apple has made a major push into both exclusive and original content with Apple Music, luring artists like Taylor Swift, the Weeknd, Eminem, and more into offering up Apple Music exclusives.
Today is the one-year anniversary of Apple Music, which first debuted in 110 countries on June 30, 2015. As of June 2016, Apple Music has more than 15 million paying subscribers.

you can actually buy the albums withou subscribing to Tidal. Considered doing this but now will wait a bit to see what happens.Prince is the only reason I'd be excited about this. A number of his albums aren't available on iTunes. Tidal has them.
And here is the closing missed "when Tidal is down all artists will have strong connections with other providers of their product to their market, us consumers."did you read the thread opener?
"Tidal's strong connection to artists like Kanye West, Beyonce, and Madonna is one of the reasons Apple is mulling an acquisition."

A Trump fan per chance? 'Sound like him.Wow! Apple executives must really love RAP music! They are investing massive amount of money in anything related to this music style.

It's not about Tidal's potential, it's about eliminating competition.
Yes, maybe next time I will do a picture of the movie instead.i wish you could have thought about one more thing: whether your comment would mean anything to others.
