I like Apple Music.. don’t like the increase? Simple, save 100% and stop using it

So what is it exactly that you’re complaining about? The fact that consumers are spending their money on Apple products? FYI, it’s not just products consumers are spending their money on, it’s also services that Apple has exceedingly done very well with.
I have no idea what you're even talking about or how it relates to anything I said ... or even how it relates to this thread. The thread is about Apple raising prices for students in certain regions. Apple had a record breaking quarter (again). They are not hurting for money. They are making money hand over foot in this horrific economy. They don't need to raise their prices, especially for students already hurting from everything going on.

And of course, to get how the crowd here really feels about "small" price increases in streaming services around here, swap the player away from being Apple. Browse any given "Netflix raising $1/month thread" like this one: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-plans-4k-streaming-now-20-per-month.2331263/ How different "we" feel about "tiny" price increases when it's not Apple.

Amazon Prime increase sentiment: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...embership-fee-by-17-for-us-customers.2333685/

ESPN+ increase sentiment: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...spn-to-6-99-per-month-69-99-per-year.2304043/

Search and see. It appears anyone else asks for a little more: bad, robbery, ripoff, rebellion, gather the torches & pitchforks. They should pay ME that much to take the service. Bait & Switch. There should be a law against. Get the stake ready and start the fire. Etc.
People don't like price increases in general, including Apple.

Apple does it: "no problem" and endless defense of Apple

Anyone else does it: consistent bashing from all angles possible

To call the crowd here skewed and sycophantic toward Apple... is actually an understatement.

They don’t ‘need’ to raise the prices? Says who exactly? You? Who are you to determine that Apple doesn’t need to raise prices based off they are also directly affected by rising costs from manufacturing. You make it sound like Apple is immune from the inflation, when they’re part of it.

Furthermore, I don’t feel bad for students at all. That’s part of being a student, is the struggle. Apple isn’t the only manufacturer raising prices, across the board. Apple raising prices is in a position to make money and capitalize where they need to, that’s fundamental profiteering for the better part of business.

If a student can’t afford the prices of an Apple product, then there’s cheaper alternatives they probably can execute what’s required.

Maybe you're right.

Now, let's apply this to the familiar ongoing affair

Furthermore, I don’t feel bad for Apple at all. That’s part of being a company, is the struggle. EU isn’t the only region adjusting laws, across the board. EU adjusting laws is in a position to protect their market and customers and capitalize where they need to

To call the crowd here skewed and sycophantic toward Apple... is actually hyperbole.

Have there been any students in this thread justifying why the $.50 is outrageous? Versus amazons $20 increase.

Most people aren't defending it. But the people that are have some kind of masochistic mentality.

I don’t know many people who want to “pay more.” Some things like electricity, petrol, food, medical care people have to suck it up or find different alternatives. For example, regular instead off premium, store brands instead of premium brands, alternative electric suppliers etc.

With subscription services and optional products there is a clear choice that can be made when a manufacturer raises its prices.

Tim Cook can't possibly live on $100 million this year. Spare some cash for this person in need.
