I give mine away to relatives or friends
Just for kicks I entered in a 2012 cMP and it is not eligible for a trade-in.
Best buy emailed me saying they would give me $20 for my wifes 2015? macbook gold 12" with 256 gb HD and like $200 for my macbook pro 2016 with 16gb ram and 1TB SSD....
I could put that MBP on eBay and easily get £900+ for it.
500$ for a 5 year old computer? That seems like a win.Late-2012 iMac 27" inch, 3 TB with Fusion Drive; $495 USD.I paid 3000+.
Anyone else get stressed out about the scratched up devices shown on this page? They give me chills.Meanwhile, Macs released earlier than 2009 are eligible for Apple's free Renew and Recycling program only.

I bet the base model gets the same return value. The customized/upgraded model he bought has zero ROI. Unfortunately, that remains mostly true in the regular aftermarket, too.[doublepost=1513110189][/doublepost]

I think some people expect Apple to pay more than what they paid for, or at least the same amount, when they first bought their machine based on some of the comments on here lol. I guess some people don't know the meaning of USED.

to be fair, is there an asset class that depreciates faster than electronics? Maybe unrefrigerated milk products? I don't expect any resale value and just give mine away to people I know who could use them.
Don't forget there are 3% PayPal fee and 10% eBay fee, so you'll only get 1400 *0.87 = 1218.My pristine Mid '15 MBP 2.8/15/500 is valued at $915? LOL
A quick search on eBay showed an average completed sales of about $1400. Something smells funny...
