My mid2012 15” i7 Unibody MacBook Pro is apparently worth $420. That was surprising. What’s a little more surprising is that it’s not worth much different from some way newer MacBook Pro’s posted about by others in this thread. I would have expected it to be worth less, not the same or more.

Just for kicks I entered in a 2012 cMP and it is not eligible for a trade-in.

Mine was eligible. I used my serial number.

I wonder how much they’d give me for my 2011 Mac mini with an i7.

My MBP 13" Mid-2010 2.4ghz is worth 40$, however its got a 850 Evo 256gb and soon to have 8gb/16gb of ram wish this included upgrades(I know why it cannot though).

Best buy emailed me saying they would give me $20 for my wifes 2015? macbook gold 12" with 256 gb HD and like $200 for my macbook pro 2016 with 16gb ram and 1TB SSD....

i like the trade-in method via Paypal.

I juat did my early 2015 as a test and got a quote for $400

I could put that MBP on eBay and easily get £900+ for it.

I think you’re paying for Convenience here. They will take it no questions asked, eBay it’s dealing with listing it, hoping someone buys it. CL it’s hoping someone buys it (and doesn’t murder you).

Late-2012 iMac 27" inch, 3 TB with Fusion Drive; $495 USD. :( I paid 3000+.
500$ for a 5 year old computer? That seems like a win.

I bet the base model gets the same return value. The customized/upgraded model he bought has zero ROI. Unfortunately, that remains mostly true in the regular aftermarket, too.

I think some people expect Apple to pay more than what they paid for, or at least the same amount, when they first bought their machine based on some of the comments on here lol. I guess some people don't know the meaning of USED.

I would be just content with trading in used with Apple and taking a price cut it. I don't sell my Apple devices online because of the risk of fraud and everything else.

Sure you could sell it for way more on ebay but it might ot even sell, or would take a long time for a buyer. It's just like Gazelle.com... you sell your used stuff for much less but its a guaranteed sell. $500 for a 5 year old computer is pretty decent imo. I've sold phones on Gazelle I know I could have gotten way more for on ebay but I was lazy and didn't feel like putting in the effort.

For my late 2013 rMBP with 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM, Phobio quotes me for $610... which is 24.6% of the $2470 I paid 4 years ago. I must say that's an improvement from the previous Phobio quote of $285.

I notice the quote doesn't indicated installed RAM size, which I hope is not the case because if it is, I'll just stick to stock RAM sizes from here on out.

Amazed nobody jumped on the trade-in price of a Mac Pro yet... A "Pro" computer with insane pricing now worth less than a consumer laptop. Nice.

Here's the laughable quote they gave for my 2016 MacBook Pro. Mind you this thing cost over $2,400 when I got it.

Apple MacBook Pro 15" 2016 Core i7 2.7GHz 512GB SSD - $1,205.00 o_O

to be fair, is there an asset class that depreciates faster than electronics? Maybe unrefrigerated milk products? I don't expect any resale value and just give mine away to people I know who could use them.

Looking at specs alone, my late 2015 27" 5k iMac is not far off from the latest iMac range and it's now late 2017. So in 2 years and there's barely a difference. Which is also why it's still worth $1500 on ebay (paid $2,300 new). So it's only depreciated $33/month - not bad at all.

My 13", mid-2012 MacBook Air with 8g ram and Intel Core i7 = $230.
What a bummer. Almost had me thinking about a new one..
I would need $500 to be enticed into a new MacBook Pro.
Hard to replace this Mac when it works all day long just fine.
Dang ! But I want to !

I WILL DOUBLE ANY OFFER BY PHOBIA if you want to sell no questions asked!

BTW, is $265 a fair price for a good conditon Macbook 12" 2016 1.3ghz 512 SSD? If so, sell me yours. I will pay for shipping.
