Still too low. There's no reason to do an Apple Trade-In anymore. You can get a lot more money just selling your old device yourself off of a second hand market.
The Apple quotes are insultingly low. When I upgrade to a Mini M2 recently, they offered $120 for my 2017 iMac 27" 5K. Instead I sold it to OWC's SellYourMac program for $450 (I'm sure I could have gotten more selling it privately, but didn't wanna deal with individuals).

There has to be something wrong with you if you think trading in to Apple is your best option.

Hope we can continue to exert pressure on them. The fair market price is a lot higher.

Though this should be good news, all it does is demonstrate a lack of integrity. If Apple was serious about their environmental credentials, they would be doing more to entice users to trade-in.
Am I missing something? If they were serious about environmental, they would be encouraging you to KEEP your phone for it’s full useful life rather than trying to get you to upgrade a one or two year-old device.

I may be wrong but weren’t they just reduced about the time the 14 came out?,…….. never mind just read the rest of the article 🙄

The Macbook Pro and Mac Pro values are even more insulting. I know I meme on the 2019 Mac Pro for it's absurd price and the fact the Mac Studio, a computer that's the size of a Mac Mini that is a fraction of the price, outperforms it in everyway except GPU work. But, c'mon, only $1200 for a Mac Pro is insulting. I wanted to upgrade my M1 Pro 14 inch MBP to the M2 Pro since the HDMI port got updated to 2.1, but the value they're asking for it...yeah no I'll stick with it until M3 Pro arrives.

I'm sorry but the trade-in values are still extremely weak. Especially for the Macs.
What's really disappointing is we pay a real premium for more storage and thats not taken into account for trade in values.

I just priced out my iPhone 11 and they had one question: Is it in good condition?

That's all. So basically a 64gb or 256gb have the same trad in value. Its purchase price was about $300 dollars different.

Sad :(

These remain absurd. It must be the convenience factor of just adding it on to a purchase to make anyone even consider accepting these offers.

I'll give you 30 bucks. I still have to refurbish it, box and display it, and hope to make a profit.

I don't like trading in devices to Apple or any other firms. If it is in good condition, I just sell it privately so that someone can use it. I don't think that dismantling a fully functional device is environment friendly. My last phone, I used it for 2.5 years and gave it to my son. He is still using it. If I would have gave it to Apple or someone else, many parts of it would have ended up in third world countries.

If Apple truly wanted to make a positive impact, they should make their own version of craigslist, and allow people to sell Macs through their site. Anything you sell would be verified through mandatory diagnostics tests. Would be very trustworthy!
That would be ideal but I don’t think that’s going to make any money or profit for Apple thus they will not do that. They want people to buy the latest tech and disregard the previous generation's products. They become obsolete a year or so later.

Apple products lose a minimum of 50% of their value the moment you unbox them.

Just buy them used. Let someone else be the sucker that buys it new.
I don't think so. Compared to other brands, Apple products do have high resale value.

Then go sell it in the market instead of doing a trade-in. Pretty simple!
NO! If there is a service or ANYTHING available with an Apple logo on it, not only do I HAVE to use it, it has to be offered precisely in the way that I want it to be offered. Anything else is the universe being unfair to me, and I won’t allow it! I am owed my satisfaction!

The EU would never allow this.
