It’s better this way tbh. 🍎🤖 will need to get its glitches and bugs worked out and a more limited launch will help minimize the complaints about it. Then again people are going to complain anyway so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
no it doesn't as these features would first have to be classified as gatekeeping under dma by the eu or a regulator, and that can only be done once or if it's available. so apple would actually need to make it available here first, then eu would start the process of review and in my opinion would most likely classify these as not being gatekeeping.
Seeing how the EU seems to be taking the fine first ask questions after why would Apple bother risking it?

Do not be fooled - they can very well do it. They are just trying to strong-arm the EU Commission by upsetting EU customers. Do not cave in. This is not an issue with the DMA.
It is possible to share/use the screen between Windows and Samsung, and TeamViewer has worked in the EU for many years. How can the two things be a problem in the EU when it is Apple that launches it? It seems more like they are trying to punish the EU. I was really looking forward to the two functions.

This is petty Apple. Windows with Phone Link wasn’t attacked by the DMA, why should iPhone Continuity be?
Tbh I’d GLADLY give up side loading for the new iOS 18 features. Sideloading is App Store with a skin anyway; Apple gets to decide wether to allow apps or not. The war between Apple and EU has just begun. This is just plain sad.

How much of Apple Intelligence involves encryption that falls under numerous countries restrictions regarding encryption permitted usages? There are things that don't and things that do.

Apple, you can’t claim your AI is completely private, and then not release it in the EU due to privacy concerns. And the screen sharing and mirroring features? Come on. This is just childish revenge because of the App Store debacle.
I certainly hope the consequences of the DMA antagonize the EU.
Microsoft and google are able to have functional AI in Europe but Apple suddenly can't and even worse they can't make iPhone mirroring available?
