Hmmmm…. 🤔 I forgive them. The AI space is hot and a lot of wrong moves could be made if we got into a hurry. I don’t mind waiting for a fully cooked feature set that won’t compromise my security.
I gave up with most things in IOS 18. Find My has my better half just showing as locating all the time, reminders don't remind, my iCloud passkey doesn't work on Apple Sites (always comes up failed to verify), iMessage syncs at a snails pace, and Siri... well... enough said.Just give up. Apparently Siri cannot be fixed the way Apple is operating now. Do it another way.
Delete Siri. Have the OS directly integrated with an AI like ChatGPT or other partners to perform all assistant and AI functions, and let the user choose whether to enable it.
Also, as people are getting used to ChatGPT and others, they are becoming even less patient with Siri and Apple. For example, I have gotten used to assuming that the tech can grasp some context in what I say, so just last night:
Me: Siri, play XYZ (a well-known song)
Siri: (said nothing, displayed a list of movies with that name, not available via any of my subscriptions, and I didn't even know there were movies with that name)
Me: No! I meant the song! (I assumed Siri had context, because I've become used to it in even the worst of AI)
Siri: (started to play a random song, but not XYZ)
Me: Siri, play XYZ in Apple Music
Siri: (starts to play the correct song)
It was a frustrating experience and unexpected even with me knowing how stupid Siri was.
The worst news you have ever gotten? Compared to what? Clearly, you don’t have that much living under your belt yet.NOOOOOOOO!!! I’ve been waiting two long month since I got my iPhone 16 Pro Max for a better Siri! Now I have to wait even longer? This is the worst news I’ve ever gotten! It’s 2025 and Siri will still be useless on my $4500 iPad and nearly $3000 iPhone!
Why bother? Siri was better a decade ago than it is today. Apple has zero clue what they’re doing with any of this stuffAt this point I say push it to iOS 19

I think corporate inertia has nothing to do with it. However, your second reason is right. Also, marketing and keeping current and future customers engaged.Corporate inertia - it's how they've always done it (well for the last ~ 20 years anyway), so they feel they have to keep doing it that way.
Also, devs do need the lead time... although maybe not as much as it ends up actually taking.![]()
How is Samsung not doing it right and fast? Here's an example of Samsung's AI features: a youtuber covered his face with his hand and AI was able to erase his hand and draw his face:Gee who would've saw that coming?
This is why Apple does things right, and not quick.
Not sure if a faster watch is a good thing. My boss upgraded from his iPhone 14 Pro Max and Apple Watch to a new Samsung phone and watch he says it’s faster.![]()

The hardware may be built for Apple Intelligence, but apparently they can’t pull off the software.Anyone else find it ironic that the iPhone 16 Pro's biggest selling point this year was being 'built from the ground up' for Apple Intelligence, and we're now 1/3 of the way through the products lifecycle with just news of delays.
I think users have been voting with their wallets to the tune of $100 billion+ per quarter.Well they specialized in making emojis, no wonder they can’t code serious things anymore.
The whole ecosystem is a big bug.
Time for all of us to wake up and start voting with the wallet..
That would explain why they don’t seem to be getting anywhere.Maybe Apple is using each incremental upgrade to Siri to help them design the next incremental upgrade.
