So really false advertising, as iPhone 16 was marketed as the first iPhone designed from the ground up for Apple Intelligence and yet we barely have any of the Apple Intelligence features...embarrassing!

This is happening with just about everything these days! Look at Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the people who bought it are essentially beta testers because it was released before it was even close to ready! This needs to stop as customers do not want to beta test (unless we pay/volunteer to) and would respect companies much more if they delayed products/features until ready!

:apple:
Just out of curiosity who is embarrassed? I’m not. Apple probably isn’t. The board? Customers?

Whats the point of the IOSx presentation in WWDC when increasingly we have to wait 10 months until all announced features are released..... just 2 months before we start all over again.

Cant Apple just accept that if features are ready for September then its probably best to leave them for the next major release.
Quick answer: Marketing and Stock Market

Well they specialized in making emojis, no wonder they can’t code serious things anymore.
The whole ecosystem is a big bug.

Time for all of us to wake up and start voting with the wallet..
True. Emoji design team are the same guys working on Siri and AI stuff. Apple clearly made bad decision here. They clearly prioritise Emoji over the Siri enhancements. Boycotting now!!

This was always a 2025/2026 feature. That's why many suggested skip iPhone 16.

True. I skipped iPhone 16 PM for exactly this reason, and because of the EU nonsense holding Apple Intelligence back in the market.

Samsung advertises their AI features heavily here in EU. Apple – crickets, for iPhone 16 in general.

iPhone 17 PM will be a nice upgrade from my iPhone 15 PM. As for Apple Intelligence and smarter Siri, I'd say iOS 19.4 is a good bet.

I'm still with Apple, neck deep in their ecosystem. I do admire several competing products, though.

Given the reports that Apple’s “fixer” has been deployed to the Siri / Apple Intelligence team, I think Apple is under no illusions that Siri is good enough. Why this wasn’t done the second Apple leadership first saw a demo of ChatGPT though, I’ll never understand.

He was probably busy trying to fix everything else 😂

They could manage expectations better by not saying “this phone is built for intelligence,” and then failing to put any intelligence in it.
It’s bordering on fraud when people upgraded to the 16 for intelligence and got nothing so far.
Not sure it would be classed as fraud because they did push out some AI functionality. Albeit, apart from Writing tools, pretty useless AI functionality outside of Apple Park where they clearly spend the day sending genmojis and image playground images to each other.

Because it’s WAY easier to do new emoji than fix Siri. Plus what’s the marketing look like for better Siri? Seriously. “We fixed it” 😂. Or showing people roaming around using Siri and it actually working properly?

Or they can put an egg with arms in a commercial and people giggle.

Not saying I don’t want better Siri. But Apple is taking the easy way out on so much of this stuff while trying to cobble together something with Siri people are exhausted with.

Whose expectations? MR posters? It’s not as if apple hasn’t delivered exactly nothing. And it’s not fraud or if you think it is, a class action lawsuit maybe in order.

That Samsung advertises their ai features heavily in the eu and Apple doesn’t should say something about the difference in philosophy between the two companies.

If you honestly believe the above is what goes on apple with then pulling in record revenues the last quarter, can you imagine how much Apple could earn if they actually focused on doing their job and separated the genmoji team from the engineering team?

Obviously I was being facetious. Of course I don't believe that. What I do believe though, through experience, is that apples software engineering department has directional and quality issues. And they are kind of out of ideas with the iPhone (not a problem for me as we really don't need anything more out of a phone and I just want to see stability) and therefore marketing it on ideas for the future. Just my experience though.

It's time to get back to looking for problems and working out how technology can solve them. Not creating technology and finding problems to solve with it.

You got that right! We've come full circle

Apple’s engineers are terrible.
AI should’ve been a project started years ago, rather than just watching Siri be pathetic year after year.

Even while utilizing an already built AI engine on the back-end with ChatGPT, Apple still can’t get AI correct. Siri’s integration with it is terrible.

The updates are so minor every year, that people should be questioning what Apple’s engineers are doing between updates.

The reason why it’s done like that is to keep getting people to upgrade the iOS version they are on

I guess most of us never looked at what is considered a lengthy beta seeding delay from Apple? Besides the multiple months xx.0 release.

Most people don’t question imo. That’s why Apple had a record breaking quarter.
