Which noise-canceling headphones are currently considered "best"?
Is it still Bose, Sony, or...?
I need a pair for when I travel. I hate hearing airplane noise and I want the best and most comfortable noise-canceling headphones in the $300-500 range.
For a while the Sony WMX1000s were beating out bose, but Bose recenlty has taken back the crown. However, Bose are the most comfy period. I'll take comfort over the best 'noice cancelling'.Which noise-canceling headphones are currently considered "best"?

The link indicates that these are *ON*-ear headphones, not *OVER*-ear headphones, as the MR article states.
Not being picky, but this is a big difference to potential purchasers.

Nope. Small head and ears here. After a while, the Solo3’s are uncomfortable.
I imagine the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700.Thanks. And I agree. While I want noise-canceling to be very good, it doesn't necessarily have to be "best" if it means that I'm wearing the most comfortable headphones around.
So which recent model did Bose take back the crown with? - Is it the Bose Quiet Comfort?
Why in the world would they use lightning instead of USB-C? That's just Apple being difficult.
Er, yeah... I have actually. My wife's phone and my headphones both use USB-C. I've never had a problem with it.Have you actually used USB-C connector on a mobile device like a smartphone or smaller? I have. While USB-C is great for laptops and maybe even "professional" level tablets it is very awkward for smaller devices. There is a small tab inside the connector in the device and it requires a needlessly long cable connector. It is not suitable for small and/or thin devices like smartphones or headphones.
Apple is right to stick with lightening for smartphone, wearables and "non-Pro" tablets.
If anyone offers 20% off of these around Black Friday I will purchasing a pair.
do they charge with USB-C?
How many times does Apple have to go over this? They even made a comment at the last keynote. "Pro" means either for a professional or someone who appreciates and wants the top in technology that they have to offer.
You mean "from Beats" right?

Maybe it's just me, but I can't stand the Beats brand.
No, from Apple. Beats is an Apple company. Thus, they own them.
Exactly... why does Apple keep pushing this failed brand?
I’m am just going to sit over here and wait patiently for those new AirPods Pro with anc....
