Same here. Got the 'enable show Apple Music' error on my Mac. Tried via Music app on my iPad, straight through to Unidays to verify with my Open University credentials then back to Music app to select the £4.99 student option.

Will run my student Apple Music and student Spotify Premium in parallel for a while and see how I go.

Rather than starting from UniDays, try on the "for you" page assuming you don't already have Apple Music. The page looks 95% the same as it did before but there's a "are you a student" link at the bottom. It verified instantly as UniDays was signed in in safari.

I just signed up in the US. I did it on the phone. I already had a UniDays account so I just logged into that when prompted so I was preverified already.

Not working for me. Every time I click the verification link from the account page in iTunes it links me out to the iTunes download page.

Yeah doesn't seem to be fully working in the US yet. Each time I click the link, nothing happens. But thanks for the help and screenshots guys!

worked for me now, had to verify on the web browser, heres the link applemusic-spotlight.myunidays.com

When I click "Redeem Online", it just opens iTunes and I get a message that says "This feature requires Apple Music. To use this feature, make sure Show Apple Music is selected in Preferences."

I already have Apple Music enabled...

Yeah, me too.

Hmm doesn't seem to be working here. I validated as a student, it just open's Apple Music but doesn't give me the option to join at the student rate.

I tried dm'ing Apple Support. Got one reply, I messaged them back and haven't gotten another reply for 47 minutes.
[doublepost=1462573615][/doublepost]I'm technically taking classes at 2 schools now, so I'll try making a Unidays account with the other email address and see if that works.

Well...bye bye Spotify...its been fun. Maybe we'll be reunited again someday

Now to backup my library before Apple Music potentially wreaks havoc on it.

Ok, literally nothing is letting me migrate my account to a student discount. I guess I'm going to have to cancel my membership and start a new one. My library shouldn't disappear because I have iTunes Match on.

I was able to sign up as a professor; the verification step just asks you to sign in on your school's system (at least that's what it did for me). It brought up our university's standard login page, and once signed in redirected (with a token I assume) back to Unidays for completion.

Back on iTunes my subscription switched automatically from Individual to Student.

Why aren't all colleges listed? Northern Virginia community college is not listed.

Neither is Moorpark in SoCal. But if you go to Unidays website more schools are listed. Create your account there and go through the browser and it will redirect back to iTunes and you can sign up.

I only see the individaul plan form 9.99 and the family plan for 14.99 on my iPad. Where do I get to the student discount plan?

Under the 14.99 plan it will say something along the lines of "Student in College?" Click that link.

I did...it happened automatically. Where are you stuck?
I'm clicking on the "activate now" button and it opens Music, but nothing happens. It still says "verification required" next to the student discount option.

Edit: It finally worked. It didn't work when I tried in the music app, but it worked when I tried in the iTunes Store app.
