This really seems like much ado about nothing for consumers. Who cares what titles Apple gives its retail employees or what names they have for different sections of the stores? This is the kind of stuff that goes on inside companies all the time but customers never hear about it. The company I work for is #7 on the Fortune 500. I'm constantly getting memos on re-orgs and leadership changes, new titles etc. That is just the norm inside big corporations.

iPhone Pro is definitely happening next year.

More precisely, Plus will be renamed as Pro.

The lineup will be streamlined and make more sense:

Mac - Mac Pro
MacBook - MacBook Pro
iPhone - iPhone Pro
iPad - iPad Pro

Nice. :) While we're pro-ing things, how about updating the Mac Pro (the first Pro ever), how about an iTunes Pro, how about turning to PROfessionals with PROsoftware as Apple used to and while at it: PRObing simplicity might go a long way to PROfessionalize iOS devices again. :)

Sorry, I couldn't pro-resist. :)

Is this a result of the anticipated variety of problems of the soon to be released iPhone7?

Now at least people will have a "Pro" tell them they intentionally damaged their iPhone and they will not exchange.

I'm batting .500 with the Genius Bar. The first experience in 2004005 sucked. I had a G5 white iMac with unbearable fan noise. The "Genius" couldn't detect it with the ambient noise in the store so he denied the existence of the problem. Never bothered to take it in the back and let it idle for a few minutes. I ended up dumping the machine and later I am pretty sure Apple acknowledged the problem. The second time went better with a software issue.
Regarding the stores themselves, they are only useful to me for comparing new products when they are introduced. I like to see them and experience some "hands on" interaction. They have only a few standard upgrade configurations of a model so I'm usually going to buy what I want elsewhere or through the online Apple Store. There is little reason to visit and the seminars are jokes.

Yup... It just gives some people here the opportunity to whine about Apple, letting them feel better about themselves. Weird how people let Apple have so much power over their life.

As much as I do enjoy Apple products, I do avoid the stores as they are typically overcrowded. Apple products are fairly simple to use so I guess they attract alot of stupid people so when you have a real need its like hailing a cab during rush hour. Much easier to order online and only use Apple Store for necessary warranty issues or serious problems etc. I don't envy Apple's position as many of the stores have become quite chaotic. I prefer going to a Best Buy to browse the Apple area when I want to check out the latest.

That credo... it's like hearing an American Apple executive jizzing right in your ears. Jesus Christ, are they on drugs?
And another thing, I wonder what the credo is for the workers in China making all the products Apple so magically sells? "F*ck you, work harder or you're sacked"

As a former apple employee this is just stupid.

They already make their employees jump through hoops to get promoted and now they added another one to get to Genius. WOW. Getting cheap on us huh? Genius' are already underpaid and leave on the regular for IT jobs but now who even wants to work for you knowing that is how you treat your employees?
[doublepost=1471813194][/doublepost]This is the type of behavior of another corporation following in the footsteps of other companies on how they treat their employees. Monkey see, monkey do IMO.

If believing that credo is a requirement I could never be an Apple employee!

"We give more than we take. From the planet..." WTF?

Some serious changes need to happen in Western society before that's even remotely possible. And buying a fancy new MacBook or iPhone is about the last thing that would help. Oh but wait, it's another sentence so Apple doesn't really mean it, they're just implying it in a really sneaky way.

Or do they mean that Apple employees have to be all-giving hippies that can never take (from the planet) by actually buying an iPhone or Mac for themselves but be happy facilitating others to do so? "From the planet" they give "To the person next to them". In other words, they "take" an iPhone full of expensive resources and "give" it to the customer buying it. They have to be happy with that because since they "give more than we take" they're not allowed to be that person getting the iPhone. Sad for them.

What complete and utter BS. Who comes up with this crap?

Worked Apple Retail for eight years. Throughout that time, I've witnessed a mass exodus of knowledgable employees due to extremely low wages compared to the amount of work that's expected.

Countless ex-customers have approached my side-business stating that the people working at the stores don't know anything.

Apple also has no incentive to care because fanatics are lining up for a chance to work at their stores.

That is what happens when the most profitable company on the planet continually puts profits above employees.

The one thing I do not get about the naming of the iPad line is ther is no iPad (just iPad).

iPad mini

iPad Pro 9.7 (why not just call this one iPad?)

iPad Pro 10.9
