I hadn't thought of that specific application, but you're right! I'm always clicking and dragging to different windows via Expose, and although using my programmed Expose button on my MX510 makes it real slick, this would make it even easier!

Damn, I'm tempted to pick one of these up...

Pure genius! Setting the "squeeze buttons" to "All windows" in expose is goona be HUGE for me.

I WANT BLUETOOTH........!!!! I know Apple is just waiting to have lots of dummies buy this model and then they come out with the bluetooth version... I'm calling it. Damn Apple... Such a sweet mouse... too bad it has a tail...

I know it's a lot of work but you might want to read the thread a little before posting the exact same comment as 20 other people. Well, not exactly the same comment, you're the only one that called me a dummy. ;) No hard feelings.

So, any guesses on when Apple might start including these with their computers? The PowerMacs still only have the wired and wireless keyboard and mouse options in the Apple Store.

I think this will be cool for people wanting to buy the Mac mini. You need your own keyboard and mouse for the thing, and now there's an awesome Apple option for the mouse!

Edit: You can get the Might Mouse option with a Mini on the BTO screen...

wow

fantaaaaaastic. simple. tactile. elegant.

now there's nothing left to complain about. (and boy was that a crappy issue to complain about to start with -- ever since the advent of USB macs and OS X it hasn't been an issue)

Huh. The masochist in me wants to go and get one of these mice, plug it into an XP system, and see what happens. Hmmm naaa. I'll just get one with my Pentium M PowerBook. :)

Little early for that statement. Come back in 2 years.

PS- I really wish it was BlueTooth enabled. *ducks as someone flings their one button mouse at his head* :D

HELLO BLUETOOTH-WANTERS!!!!!!!

Look, I posted TWICE about why Apple can't put in Bluetooth, but nobody payed any attention. Before you complain, LOOK AT MY POST ON PAGE 13!!!

On a different note, AppleInsider posted a photo gallery of them Mighty Mouse that you should see.

waht do you think apple will do to there "up-coming" release of the keyboard or if there is one

The whole keyboard will be one giant key that senses what key you actually wanted to press depending on where you strike the uber-key.

I was one of the die-hard 1-button ppl who even want to stock several pro mouse if apple totally change to multi-button....

now i must say, great job apple!
for more appreication, please give us a bluetooth version.

Further to this, I think it's cool that listed under the system requirements, Apple has a section for PCs as well as Macs. Not surprising of course, (after all, this is only as mouse, compatibility isn't a huge issue!), but it's nice to see nonetheless. A few years ago you wouldn't have seen anything regarding Windows-compatiibility whatsoever on Apple's site. ;)

Yep, the Mighty Mouse would run pretty sweet on an Intel PowerBook. Hmm, Apple is moving to Intel... and Intel chips are used in Windows boxes... and Windows is practically deisgned for 2-button mouses... and... hmmm..... ;)

Well I was going for the whiny 'It doesn't have bluetooth' comment but opted for option A instead just to balance out the two repeated themes in this thread and show a little support for a new product.

I posted the same thing a while back but nobody saw it...

So there's no Bluetooth because there's no room for the battery! The old wired mouse had this big clear empty space above the sensor, but the BT mouse is all white to hide the battery. Instead of the battery, this one has a scroll ball and a ton of sensors. Until the mouse gets bigger or batteries get smaller/better, the Mighty Mouse will probably remain wired only. :(

who say that a BT mouse must use AA size battery?!
can't it be something small and rechargable with a mouse dock?!

Awesome--but again....bluetooth? Maybe in the next few weeks theyll update the line with a bluetooth version of this one.

Nah. Get this one out there for the fall shopping season and thing bring out the BT version at MWSF in January. Maybe/Hopefully the BT version will coincide with iPod BT earbuds.

I went to the Apple Store here in Dallas around noon and they had just sold the last one they had. I saw the guy walking out of the store with it. They only got twelve in today. Guess I'll be checking back soon. They also did not have any out on the floor to play with yet either.

They will come out with this:

[Edited so pretty pictures don't make everyone comment and go too far OT.]

OLED display keyboard and all Mac users will **** themselves. :D

LOL. I need that sometimes as my typing is atrocious.

Your post wasn't overlooked, I just think it was found irrelevant. Apple could figure out a way. Remember when everyone told us a 20" iMac was impossible? I don't ever say "impossible" when I refer to Apple. I bet they have a Powerbook G5 running on the Apple campus, but it's not up to the level that they want it. Just like I'm sure that they've had a two-button mouse for years, but they NEVER release something until they feel that they "got it right."

So the Mighty Mouse you've been using, how does it feel? Could you post your photos of the dismantled mouse so we can get a look at the sensors etc?

What I think Apple will do with their upcoming keyboard release is correct people's spelling errors for them. :p That, and make the keys touch-sensitive, so the harder you press a key, the bolder and larger font size the character becomes.

I'll be a lot more impressed with that when it is no longer a design concerpt and they can provide a working prototype.

Oh yeahhhhhh...

You're right, of course. A rechargeable BT Wireless Mouse would be HOT! Do it, Apple!
