Which is why I think they should have made a 46mm watch as well. Most everyone I know, including women, chose the 42, and many wanted something larger.

The standard average male watch these days is about 42mm, so no they're not making a 46mm for quite some time if ever, that would also explode the number of models available even more. Considering the massive amount of them they have now and the complexity of a launch which is still not world wide, that wouldn't be a good idea.

That would've been good. I mean I'm no stick insect, but I'm not chubby either - I'm built like a fairly average 20-something guy, and the 42mm is verging on the small side.

Until the last decade, there were very few male watches much bigger than 42mm, so I think its mostly perception caused by recent trend in watches that makes you think that. Imagine how your wrist would have looked when the style for watches was quite small a while back!

Well, it's worth whatever people are willing to pay for it.

So if people are willing to pay $200+ then that's what it's worth.

I have the Link Bracelet and there must be roughly 9 links each side (18 overall) so that would be $149 worth of links going on this pricing. Yet the whole bracelet is $400+..

For sizing, this is cool. What I'd like to see is Apple offer the actual clasp as a standalone item. For people without AC+ (or those who don't want to burn one of their claims on something like scratches, since this is the main area where they'd likely occur), that could be useful as well.

Space Black, please.

Well I'm a woman with smaller wrists. I didn't want 42 and certainly wouldn't want anything even largerthan that. I'm glad Apple is one of the few actually catering to women (or men) with small wrists.

I actually find it interesting that Apple is actually leading the way in the customization department in the smart watch category. This is an aspect that you would certainly expect Android wear to dominate, but not this time around. One thing I like about Apple since Tim Cook has taken over is more openness toward more choice. I can tell because unlike the iPhone and iPad, the Apple Watch came in two sizes off the bat.

Why? What do non-obese people get for free at the Apple Store?

I'm confused here. Lebron James wears a size 15 shoe. His wrist circumference is 302 mm. Does that make him obese? You really ought to educate yourself. On the flip-side, maybe they should surcharge based on body mass index. Maybe you would reconsider your position... just cause someone is 5ft2 and overweight but since their frame is smaller they can fit into a small Apple Watch doesn't put logic to their argument that someone in tip top shape that's 6ft4 and has a large wrist is obese.

Apple catering for the fatties now

You realize that someone who is 6ft4 and thin as a rail in perfect shape, yet can't fit into a large Apple Watch, yet someone who is 5ft2 and weighs 240 lbs can fit into a small band because their bones aren't thicker, they're just overweight. Maybe you should stop and think about what you say before you say it.

I didn't know Apple used Watchdots for their promotional images! :p
(I think someone forgot to add that bit of the crown back in in Photoshop...)

I think you don't know what your talking about and clearly don't understand how light reflects off types of metal... unedited picture of my watch I took just now... oh but you must think I photoshopped a "watch dot" onto my crown, or didn't finish photoshopping it off and putting it back... SMH

Calm down, I was half joking. I just found it hard to believe that the crown would be perfectly white.

HAHA, quick to tell me to calm down, and quick to accuse apple of bad photoshopping... Hopefully in real life you're not so quick to jump to conclusions without first thinking through what you're saying. LOL ;-)

Bravo.

To my (obviously untrained... ;) ) eye, it looked unnatural.

By calm down, all I meant was you could've pointed it out without the sarcastic tone and condescending attitude. I'm perfectly happy to be corrected when I'm wrong (which, as I'm human, is pretty often).

You detected my sarcastic tone online. Maybe there's hope for you yet. ;-)

The funny part is if you whip out a BMI chart, those hiding behind their screens throwing stones will scatter like flies! LOL! Gotta love the internets.

That's one fat wrist u have there. Large and in-chrage huh.

However, i think Apple has just gone int the watch business as official

No it's not.

Otherwise, he'd look pretty damn ridiculous weearing the 44mm Audemars Piguet Lebron James Watch. You should really sanity-check your sources.

LOL.

But yes, the only non-obese people in tip top shape with such a wrist size are athletes at the extreme edge of the athletic spectrum. I wonder, do you complain at your favorite department stores that they don't sell 200cm belts at no extra charge, because there are sumo wrestlers in tip top shape requiring such belts? Oh why am I asking this? I am sure you do that!

99.999% of the people with this kind of wrist circumference are obese. You might want to go outside sometime to see how many obese people there are vs athletes with freakishly huge wrists. You might notice that there are not so many Lebron Jameses (or sumo wrestlers) out there. It's called "educating yourself".

Lebron James could certainly afford a tailor-made wristband by the way. But he already has his own watch, which according to the designers was adjusted to fit his "thin wrist".

Yeah, something doesn't sound right about that measurement. That's just shy of 12 inches (11.89"), and would be (at least, seem like) a massive wrist on someone like LeBron (even with his height/weight).

Check out this forum:

http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/archive/index.php/t-21037.html

Talking about wrist size. Those who are 6 foot to 6ft2 average 7-9 inch wrist circumference. So I don't think it's unbelievable that someone who is 6ft8 has a wrist size between 11 and 12 inches. Especially given that the average shoe size at 6ft1 is 12, yet at 6ft8, Lebraun wears a size 16 or 17 per his fan page. Proportionately it makes complete sense.

Yes, while we get all hyped up about new Apple Watches and iPhones, there really are people getting all chatty about wrist sizes in their own forum, haha
