Also rumour of new SE and ipad mini and that hasn't happened.

Apple under Tim Cook is very slow on releasing updates in their model line up! It seems that he does not care or loose interest in the replacement upgrades. But Apple still doing good so that means it should come out eventually maybe later on in 2018?

Who’s ditching their X for one of these ?

:D

Anyone ?

Negative. Lol. I waited for years for the OLED and I finally have it. Worth every penny (spent $350 less than retail on my 256 GB X).

You'd need to *really* want a red phone, or really not like your X, to go from an X to a red 8.

I just can't understand why there is no Product Red iPhone X? Damn it!

Why no X?

Maybe Apple is waiting until June to release the Product Red iPhone X for that third quarter/summer boost? Tim will be like here’s the blush gold and Product Red colors you wanted, just ignore that we’re three months away from releasing this year’s iPhones, including the 6.1” LCD iPhone that looks like the X with FaceID.

There isn't going to be a red iPhone X. Or at least it won't have red edge bands. Red, or at least red like the Product(Red) shade, is not an option with the PVD process AFAIK, and I don't think Apple is likely to go with some less cosmetically perfectible or durable than PVD.

X is getting discontinued in September!

The red 8 will be discontinued long before that, if history is any guide.

I care about AMERICANS first and the rest of the world SECOND. Just because I care more about US Citizens doesn't mean I don't care about people in the rest of the world.

Oh, so narrow-minded.

Humanity, empathy, care, love, etc., don't look for citizenship first and rest next.

BTW, are you including all Americans, as in people from countries in both continents, in your definition of Americans.

This is one dope design. Red and black gives a better and elegant nuance. Should’ve done it with the 1st RED iphone.
I’ve wondered why no RED iphone X? Since Apple could’ve easily changed the back with red color and let the silver band stay. It’d look gorgeous.

A few chinese android companies have copied the red/black scheme a bit earlier. Not look as good as iphone though, but still.. a lil too late

Anyone know of a good red iPhone case that doesn’t cost a ton? I really like my Anker Karapax, but we have two iPhones Xs with the same case.

The (Product)RED one is so dark. I'd prefer a more vibrant red.

Hardly. Let me put this in as plain of English as I can since some of you don't seem to be getting the concept. Americans (and you know very well who I'm talking about) FIRST and FOREMOST, anyone else is a VERY distant second. I'm all for helping others but there are thousands, if not millions, of people dying of AIDS right in our own backyard. Taking care of them first is my priority. The rest of the world comes later.

Ah. Yes. Good for you for helping the fight against AIDS.

This ALMOST makes me want to leave my X and go with the 8 Plus in Red.
I’m actually selling my X to get the red 8 plus. Red is my favorite color, last year I sold my silver 7 to get the red 7. Next year I’ll just wait until they announce the red iPhones mid cycle.

I'm still not entirely sure what this has to do with this thread. If you buy this red iPhone, some of the proceeds may benefit some people in Africa who have AIDS. This does not mean you cannot donate money, time, or both to people in the US who have AIDS or any other tragic malady.

It's not like Apple has a Product USA phone or something. If they did and you chose it instead of a Product Red phone, I think that'd just be you choosing one charity over another. If you deliberately refuse to buy a red iPhone when you would otherwise have bought a red iPhone if it was not attached to Product Red, well, it's you choosing NOT to support where support would happen via a purchase you would have made anyway.

Which is the same as refusing to be supportive, period.

This conversation that he’s in started with “why Africa, why not ‘Murica” and went from there. He thinks Apple should force the entire world to take care of USA’s AIDS problem as opposed to helping an entire continent with a larger number of people suffering from the problem.

I think these phones look great. I don't understand why Apple would make someone wait 7 months after the new model comes out to get a red version. I feel like a lot of people would be happy to support the cause and buy red models if they were available at the same time as the new release. I know I would.

The answer is simple
To boost up the sales

In 2016, it was reported that the there had been a TOTAL of 650,000 deaths from HIV/AIDS in America SINCE the infection hit, and there were an estimated 1,218,400 people living with the infection.

Deaths a year from HIV/AIDS in America are now thought to be below 15,000 a year and that number is decreasing year on year thanks to medication and treatments.

In 2011, Africa had more than 23,500,000 living with the infection and over 1,200,000 died as a cause.

Basically. More people die each year from the infection in Africa than the total number of deaths in America for the entirety of the infections existence. You don't have to care about that but I personally think its important to address the issue.

The five year time discrepancy comes from the lack of data, but I think its clear why Apple work with (RED) to help out people in Africa.

Yes, it is. You say it like it's a bad thing.
No, I didn't mean it like it's a bad thing. It's smart and strategic. My comment was in response to someone's negative comment, expressing their frustration over Apple "taking so long to come out with the Product (Red) iPhone 8"

If Apple sells them both at the time of new release, half of the people will buy Red, most of them are just upgrading their phone not buying because of the cause. So Apple has to contribute more to the cause and also taking a hit on the sale of the other variants. Now when the release it now the people who buy them are mostly buying it for the cause are a few people who can't resist the red color. This helps Apple push more sales when it is slowing down.

Again, you missed the point and extrapolated something that's not there. I never said Apple should force the world to take care of USA's AIDS problem. Rather I asked why they're not doing anything to help those suffering from AIDS at home. Why are African people prioritized over those in the United States?
