Time will tell if the build quality is not as cheap as the last red version.
I agree. Within a few months my red iPhone 7 was showing a lot of wear and tear/even just the areas that I set it down touching my desk were a lighter red than other parts of phone body.

...and defeats the purpose if you just cover it with a case anyways. Guess we'll see how this one holds up!

Finally the proper combination of colors. Now, for this to be across the board in all iPhone models, AND iPad models every year at the same release time of the models.

And, UGA can dedicate this iPhone to themselves:p.

I doubt a new color really excites that many people.

Perhaps not. But does it need too? [Rhetorical] But maybe a new color instigates a potential buyer who is considering upgrading, and now this new color might be a reason for them to look at the iPhone lineup again. Even if they don’t purchase the Product Red, it still is tactical marketing to gain attraction with the Color red.

Also, think about how red is very popular in China, which symbolizes _good luck_. So the Product Red iPhone will do very well over there as well, not just in the US.

Black screen, space grey Touch ID, silver apple logo? Ah I dunno how I feel about this. Kinda messy tbh.

There’s more than a few people that “unexpectedly” need a new iPhone between now and September. Like their current iPhone’s battery is going bad, it gets lost, stolen, damaged or that cracked screen finally annoys someone enough to get motivated by a new color, one their friends won’t have.

I never understood why they never did this sooner with the product red products. The black looks so much sleeker than the white.

At least now people no longer have to frankenstine their iPhones by buying both the Jet Black model and the Product Red model only to take the two apart just for a sleeker Product Red model.

Maybe just the lighting but the red leather case looks really dull.

I don't know what kind of psychos walk around with iPhones with no cases these days, I tried it with the 6 Plus and immediately put a grippy case on it because it felt like a wet bar of soap that was always trying to jump out of my hand. When I ordered the iPhone X, I ordered it with a silicone case, even though I also have Apple Care. Just too risky (speaking as someone who is really careful with my phone but still managed to drop one and shatter the screen).

The iPhone 4S is the last iPhone I felt comfortable carrying with no case, the newer ones are too big and not grippy enough.

I guess I'm a "psycho" then because I haven't used a case in over a month and I don't miss them. I have some, in the even that I am going someplace that I feel I may be getting jostled around more than usual, but for daily wandering about, no case works just fine.

BLACK SCREEN I’M SHOOK!
I really hope they don’t release a Product (RED) iPhone X... currently have the Space Grey, but mannnnn if they release a (RED) i’ll Want it :( haha.

Rumor has it that the current X will be discontinued for the new iPhone 11-X! So that means if they product a red X, it would sell for only 5-6 months.

The silver Apple logo pops in the advert but I think it should have been black. Missed opportunity to nail the design again.

Tempted to upgrade my 7 plus now.

I am in love with this color. For the first time in a while, they made me forget the headphone jack cause they made a red phone. Only complaint is that I already have a grey 8, but in order to exchange for a different color with sprint, (I lease through them) you needed to have done that within the 14 days of purchase, and I don’t want to pay for just a color change. *my current 8 is in great condition

Apple needs to step up carrier communication.

I have a product red 8 Apple silicone case

I actually had decided late last week that I wanted to go back to the 8 Plus from the X. So I sold my X Saturday and was planning to go get the silver 8 Plus today....but then this news came out. I really prefer the white front on phones but the red and black is very sexy. I can't decide what to do. I may have to just wait until Friday to decide...to see it in person at the Apple Store.

I’m mostly sure that you voted for Trump, and would have voted BREXIT if you could as well ‍♂️
Thank you for the completely irrelevant comment.

You should care abut the suffering of others regardless of where they’re from.
I care about AMERICANS first and the rest of the world SECOND. Just because I care more about US Citizens doesn't mean I don't care about people in the rest of the world.
