Does that mean that iPhone 12 will also get the new Touch ID power button?

Now that I think about it, Touch ID power button on iPhone is less practical since most iPhones go into Apple cases that cover the button.

For my use case, I hope so. I always go nude with iPhones.

I still owe Apple more than 500€ on my less than a year old iPad Pro 11. Has it served me any better for the 400€ I’ve already paid than any other iPad (for example the Air) would? No!

Today I downgraded my iPhone XS to iOS 13. Two months ago before the betas it had 96%; now has 90%. I’m not doing these things anymore. I’m getting an iPhone 11 Pro when my contract comes to an end in Nov; give wife the XS.

I will remain a customer (hell with Android), but I’ll be a very wise customer henceforth.

So the iPad Pro is now 2 generations older than the air.....why? Also, why does the standard iPad exist? I completely forgot before today that there are FOUR iPad models. Insane.

Also, USB-C for iPhone next Apple
The rationale (price) for the standard iPad is stronger now than ever, given that the Air just went up $100 in starting price. $329 for the iPad is going to tempt a lot more people than $599 for the Air.

Looks like the cores in the a14 are only 20% faster than the a13. Very disappointing. Expectations were 40%.

I wonder if next Pro update the 11“ goes away, but then again Apple seems to never take the natural product off-ramps. It would make more sense if there’s the Edu device (iPad), the mid-grade 11” device (Air), and the enormous pro-grade device.

Very interested to see how the A14 compares to my 2018 11” chip. Poor saps who bought the refreshed 11” must be upset.

My grandmother has been bugging me to update her 3rd gen Air and I‘m glad I held firm so I can get her the basic model with updated A12 chip.

This is pretty impressive for an Air. Almost makes my 2020 Pro look obsolete! The A14 will surely be faster then A12Z no?

faster in single core. About 10-20 percent slower gpu compared t A12x and A12z. Most likely less ram.

Ipad pro is still much better in anything else than neural engine.

I dont really get why people would think this new air has made pro obsolete. The next pro will be really fast though as it would have roughly twice as much performance.

I guess for Pro Motion and Face ID? But yeah, doesn’t seem worth another $200.

Also probably more RAM and higher base storage. Not to mention that the A12z probably has better graphics performance as is usual for the x/y chips. I’m shocked no one is whining about the “huge” bezel on this thing. (And that was sarcasm for those that have trouble recognizing it).

Great update to the Air, it is a great device to have now!

The Pro keeps the Motion Display, the Camera Setup and the LiDAR scanner, possibly with different RAM/ Storage options?
Yes 64 GB it looks like on the website now

What 11" ipad pro has over the new ipad air

- 0.1"
- up to 1T SSD
- 10MP Ultra Wide
- starting with 128GB instead of 64 SSD
- the dimensions and weight are almost the same
- 600 nits max brightness over 500nits on the air
- ProMotion technology
- Brighter True Tone flash
- Four speaker audio
- faceID / touchID
- LIDAR
- more Ram

So, i hope this will be helpful
