Why do computers have firewire slots? I mean, really, not everyone needs them so why bother?

Same goes for dual ethernet, optical audio and that silly backlit apple logo: does anyone actually CARE that it glows beyond that first few days of "honeymoon" period?

So if the new acd's were hdcp compliant then dvi would work with the copyright problems ? I just know other users (not you) like multiple inputs for PS3's blue ray players etc. I suppose the more the merrier, but will hdmi support a 30 inch acd ?

The Mac mini and Mac Pro are both in dire need of updates (or rather, complete refreshes at this point).

I know laptops are becoming the main sellers for Apple, but still. The Mac mini still have the same shell as the day it came out, and aside from the G4 to intel transition, it's pratically the same motherboard as 2.5 years ago.

Not everybody wants a laptop. And if Apple can make a 800$ laptop then surely they can make a 400$ desktop.

I believe we are going to see something really new. A tablet? I don't know what, but you don't just have a media event to show off a new version of the same ole thing. You have a media event to introduce something that hasn't been seen before. And not just an aluminum version of the same ole MacBook.

So, whether it's a NetBook or a Tablet, it has to be NEW! Do you all think it would be a media event just to show off new versions of the MacBook, Pro, and Air?

And what about the pricing? Up to $3100... Could be Blu Ray or a TABLET!

We were all wondering why they would have an event as we thought we were going to see updates...

Here's a comparison with the current MacBooks. Top shot is the invitation, bottom is the Black MacBook. Looks like exactly the same ratio screen and Apple Logo, so I think this is the 13" MacBook (or 13" MacBook Pro?) in this invitation.

An Apple laptop would benefit from HDMI in the same way Dell laptop owners benefit from HDMI: It's a small, easy to use connector which gives good picture and sound quality.

Only reason I can see for Apple not including an HDMI port is it would mean they wouldn't be able to make money from those silly mini DVI adapters any more.
