The rez is actually too high, so as it stands, no. Doesn't help that ACDs have no settings menus on them beyond brightness (all mac control panel). The smarter monitors have input display settings (1:1, full frame, ratio locked etc), so you can choose for yourself...choice is good, sure works with the BeqQ's.

An Apple laptop would benefit from HDMI in the same way Dell laptop owners benefit from HDMI: It's a small, easy to use connector which gives good picture and sound quality.

Only reason I can see for Apple not including an HDMI port is it would mean they wouldn't be able to make money from those silly mini DVI adapters any more.

They'd make money from selling white HDMI to DVI adapters.

And it might be mini-HDMI... to mini-DVI... to full DVI!

Great news! I'm not going to buy one and have no intentions of doing so, but this still seems rather exciting.

At the first sign of desktop updates, I'll be hooked. My G4 is due for an update as soon as Apple release the next desktops.

I'm not about to read through 12 pages to see if you were actually kidding about the logo being lit by an outside light source, maybe as a nod to the idiots 2 months ago saying that the spyshots made it look like the logo wasn't going to be backlit anymore when there were obviously holes for LEDs to light it up, so I'm just going to say it now...... HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU ACTUALLY THINK THAT????? The light is fading off well before the logo, it is obviously backlit.

longtime lurker, just went thru the reg. process to say YAY!

... now I only have to convince myself that my 30-month-old MBP is NOT desperately in need of an update. I mean, what the heck, it's still under applecare! I don't think I'd buy one immediately but now I might start saving for Xmas

I never keep a laptop longer than the Apple Care. It just isn't worth the risk. Considering that I'm having my third logic board installed in my just over a year-old 17 inch MB Pro, I know this one will be heading out the door before it's warranty expires (thanks, Nvidia).

That said, I'm excited to see what the latest offerings are from Apple!

A lot of people need Firewire expecially those buying a machine targeted as PRO. And the glowing Apple is way too cool and such a distinctive brand feature.
