I am VERY EXCITED!! But I really hope that if they make a black Aluminum MacBook that it won't cost anymore than the standard. In other words, I like black better, BUT IM NOT RICHThis is great news
New laptops! Wohooooooo!
I'm not about to read through 12 pages to see if you....
Yeah, you should never go out to lunch again. Santa Steve actually stopped by as well - said he's sick and tired of all these political commercials - it's making it harder to get Apple commercials on the air![]()

I'm just gonna sit here with my credit card and stare at the screen for the next 6 days. Time to replace my very trusty PB G4. Sweet.![]()

That is a good point. That gives me pause to my thought process. If the $800 price point is accurate, you can kiss the high-priced, used G4 and Macbook market bye bye. No more $800+ Powerbook G4s for sure.
2. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/573906/Some questions for those with relevant expertise:
1) In July, when the first leaked images showed up (https://www.macrumors.com/2008/07/09/leaked-macbook-pro-casing-confirmed/), there was some discussion about whether or not the "Apple logo will continue to be illuminated from behind as it is in existing Apple laptops." The images seemed to show a hole cut for it, but at that early date it is likely this was a prototype case. Is it possible (read "cheap enough") to laser drill the logo so that it shines through the aluminum?
2) Is the current 4GB RAM limit set by the non-availability of single-SODIMM 2GB memory, or is there some hardware limitation that might be removed on Tuesday? 4 GB is fine for now but two years from now we'll have outgrown it.
3) Can a mini-DVI connection drive a 30" cinema display at full resolution, or do you need HDMI for that? (Why?)
4) I've seen plenty of complaints about the Macbook's (and even the Pro's 8800GTM) integrated graphics performance. If you're one of the complainers, what equivalent Nvidia processor would you be happy with? (hardcore gamers, shut up, I know your answer already.)
5) Is there anything like a blue ray combo or super drive out on the market? How much would a slot-loading blue ray drive cost Apple these days? (in other words, how much would a switch to blue ray increase the laptop price, and is there a suitable replacement for the DVD combo/super drives in the current models?)
What is with all this "whoop whoop" stuff?
You guys are nerds.
Btw, I'm hoping for a black one too!
I would think that this is just the current Macbook Pro. I can't see them using the new product IN the event invite.
TV show audience , they must be, ....they all do that on TV shoes , apparently.
..here's the host WHOOOOP WHOOOP , here's the guest WHOOP WHOOP ......here's the tea lady >>WHOOOP WHOOOPsounds a bit like Reed Warblers when my neighbour has his TV on
Normally I would wait but seeing as how my 2 yr old MBP will fetch $1000 on ebay ...
That's one thing that you don't hear alot in the PC vs Mac debate. A 2 yr old Mac has an extremely high resale value. Heck even a 4 or 5 yr old Mac will fetch a nice price. Try selling a 5 yr old Dell anything for more than $100.
well here's some good news - it's less than 120 hours from now (5 days) so you've already stared away 16% of your wait time![]()
Don't get hypnotized by your screen and let someone swipe your credit card.I'm just gonna sit here with my credit card and stare at the screen for the next 6 days. Time to replace my very trusty PB G4. Sweet.![]()
