Thanks. My wife left my last MBP (maxed out with 500Gb HD) outside a casino in Reno last month, the only reason I wasn't as upset as I should have been was that I would've had a nightmare trying to persuade her I NEEDED a new one in october...

If the MB doesn't have a dedicated GPU or no 12"/13" MBP introduced, I'd be pissed. Other than that... I haven't got much to complain about.

Isn't it funny how things like this suck but really they end up being a blessing in disguise in ways.

My GF dropped my 5month old HP notebook and I was upset, but ended up reselling it w/ broken screen and got into the Mac Family w/ this macbook. I had regretted not shelling out more money for a MacBook in the first place when I got my HP Notebook so I am ultimately very happy. I got it for a really good price so I'm not upset about the new update.
 
i have £1750 sitting in a bank account ready for a top spec MBP 15 inch (after 15% strudent discount) so i am BOUNCING OF THE CIELING RIGHT NOW WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:D

I see about 20+ pages of people just saying "can't wait" and "finally!" and others along those lines.

Actually, Woz was waiting in the line for iPhone, despite Jobs willing to give him for free(?). Maybe this time he'll ask SJ to give him new MBP for free(?) :D

Yes and if it really has a black keyboard, it should be backlit. Would be useful for my homework-nights xD. I hope it has an LED display aswell, since I travel a few hours by train almost every day and I could use every minute of saved energy.

I stopped reading at page 17, but did anyone else notice on the apple.com website under media that there is no update about this press release? Dose that mean anything?
It lists the last press release as Sept. 19th Media Alert: Apple Announces Ultracompact USB Adapter Exchange Program

I would think that this would be an announcement that would be all over the internet by now but I can't seem to find it on any news site other then here and where it was originally posted.

Not to sound negative I can't wait for the 14th so I can by my first Mac!

a wife and a GF and both destroy/lose notebooks? not much variety in your life.......;)
 
So, how does this tie in with time zones? If they do release the new books on the 14th, will us Brits have to wait until after the event has occurred to pick one up?

Or do the UK stores open them up and start selling them before the event has occurred i.e. due to time zone differences?

I'm sure it will have an LED screen. Apple is going green, not that I care.
