Where'd this pic leak from?!

xc3q8h.jpg

Is this thicker than the current MBP?

Yixian, where'd you find this picture? I've been holding off buying a MacBook Pro, waiting to see what's coming out Oct 14th! I can't wait! Are there any leaks regarding the specs?

:):):):):):):):):):):):)

Well my iBook is put up for sale! Counting seconds until Tuesday! Please surprise me, Apple :)

Well, I´m starting to fell comfortable with the black keys... I really disliked when the mac book air were launched, because I think that the aluminum ones are so much better... But as the time goes by, I think it is ok now.

I'm just hoping for backlit keys on the new macbook. I'm not stupid tho so I know most likely they wont be. A boy can dream.....

I just hope Apple don't fall flat on Mac updates like they've done recently...

Musts (for me - at the high end...)
- Keep the matte display option, very important that one...Same here
- Blu-ray. Come on Apple... lol AMEN!
- Up to 8GB RAM would be nice. AMEN!
- SSD bto. AMEN!
- Advanced trackpad AMEN!
- HDMI port Um,...don't have a TV like that but AMEN anyway!
- 9700M GTS - But I feel Apple will end up with a 9600M GT AMEN!

Most important of all, secondary button for right-click. That's what keep me from buyin' my first laptop. I hope they include on the next one. Don't forget about 19" or 20" MBP too! That will be awesome!

People keep posting that "completely redesigned" ad over and over. Still nobody has noticed the bar at the bottom of the screen that belongs to Photoshop?

That's why I married my wife ) will finally get her own notebook. Yay!

Heh heh heh.... I see what you did there :D

You forgot the biggest one of all, those who just bought an Apple notebook.

Urhm, true. I was beaten to that one anyway.
Another one - people who were voting for what they thought of the invitation itself (the whole spotlight thing etc) :)

That mockup has been around for quite some time.

Any word on Air updates?

Any chance we'll see a larger MacBook Air? I dig the Air concept, but I want a larger screen (ie: 15").

Of course what I REALLY want is a tablet, but I think that's still a year off. Probably when Snow Leopard arrives...with all sorts of Touch goodies built in.

Just use 2 fingers, it's much more useful. :)

If the air is updated at all, expect a larger ssd option, a larger HDD option, and mayb a spec bump.

A 20" laptop? That'd be an aluminum picnic table. :D

A larger Air?

If anything they need to make it smaller

Neither of those is happening. The one button design is here to stay, and 19" or 20" is just too big to be practical in a notebook. It's more likely than adding a second button, but I'd say it's got about a 1/92,350 chance of happening.

I am glad I waited. I have had my 12" G4 1.5gz for 39 months now, waiting for a aluminum apple under 15". Hopefully, my wish has finally come true.

Same here - February of '05 when they added the BlueTooth 2.0+ EDR (that was sooo cool back then!). I had them put in the 512MB so I've been running on 768 since and I'm ready for an upgrade - having Adium, Safari, Mail and iTunes open slows my guy down a little too much.

Its like a little Steve Jobs is sitting on my shoulder wispering in my ear..... Build a hackintosh! Do it! Do it! Screw the mini, screw the xmac! Do it!

So my friend bought a new MacBook last week and I told him he should return it. He was like, "Oh, you don't know that new ones are coming out. And even if they are, they'll be more expensive." I was like, "Umm...I'm pretty sure they are coming out, AND they will be less expensive, if anything."

Look who is gonna regret their decision!!! :D:D

Heck yes!
I'm so excited!
I love how a lot of us freaked out because the invite wasn't set out a whole week like usual.
Now all we have to do is wait five more days and watch the live feed.
And the only question left is when they will be released.

Enhanced Graphics are for Snow Leopard!

Not everyone wants laptops. The Mac mini hasn't been updated in 429 days, the Mac Pro in 275 days. We also don't want built-in screens so the iMacs and all laptops are out of the question.

The Mac mini still has an intel GMA950 GPU. It was already obsolete when intel started to use it over 2.5 years ago. The Mac mini needs to be updated or replaced by something similar. And if there is now a MacBook for 800$, I hope Apple will have a Mac nano or something for around 400$.

Apple is preparing their notebooks voor http://www.apple.com/macosx/snowleopard/!
The new features of the next OS X are 'OpenCL' and 'Grand Central (Multicore)'.
All need enhanced graphics power.
Mac Mini is going to have a silent update in a month probably (so it doesn't take a lot of de spotlight on the more expensive macs)

my 2 cents

I think it's all pretty literal. The title is just saying, hey, we've been paying a lot of attention on other things (iphones, ipods, etc.). Here's something for all your notebook people now.

OmG Thank you.

Some of you people are absolutely NUTS.

There is no consiricy theory. Srsly. Undo your 6000x zoom in Photoshop on the invite and come back to reality.

Some of the conspiracy theories i've heard:

The beam shining to the left indicates that, since the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, the macbooks will be released at a night time event in apple stores.

The capital T indicates that the entire line will be thin.

The L shape indicated by the light means that there will be plenty of Laughter and lust at the event.

Since it says "the spot light TURNS" that must mean that there will be additional curvature introduced into the line.

The lowercase n alludes to notebooks being the emphasis of the show.

The intensity of the light is similar to that of roman catholic church lighting. This indicates that jobs will have His Holiness attend the eve...er..ceremony and give his blessing onto Macbook's and their owners.

The lighted area of the spotlight is in a tubular/bar shape (similar to all spotlights) which can be turned to match the width of the machine, which will allude to the availability of a docking station.

Adobe's Creative Suite 4 is slated to be released (already announced) to the US on Oct 14th, which means that you will be able to purchase photoshop and create a mockup of this AT YOUR OWN HOME!1!1

A 20" notebook could replace the iMac
