If you notice at a special event that has spotlights, they appear to be large at the ground and get thin in the sky, but in reality, it's the same beam straight up. It might even get a little larger due to light disperson from particles in the air. But a spotlight in a clean environment would hold it's diameter for the length of the beam. (within reason, please don't come back to me with some Enstien Physics forumla about light and distance blah blah). I'm talking about stuff here on Earth.

Not everyone wants laptops. The Mac mini hasn't been updated in 429 days, the Mac Pro in 275 days. We also don't want built-in screens so the iMacs and all laptops are out of the question.
The Mac mini still has an intel GMA950 GPU. It was already obsolete when intel started to use it over 2.5 years ago. The Mac mini needs to be updated or replaced by something similar. And if there is now a MacBook for 800$, I hope Apple will have a Mac nano or something for around 400$.

64 negatives........ Why???
There are over 60 people out there who think Apple releasing new notebooks on the 14th is a BAD thing??
Or maybe some people around here like to abuse the rating system?
Bring it on, Apple! It's about time.

No. No. No. No. No.
There are 2 signatures to a Mac laptop:
#1. The Illuminated Apple logo on the case
#2. 1-button for the trackpad.
If it's too hard for you to Ctrl+click, well, then I'm sorry for you. But to not buy a certain computer because of that is a bit ridiculous.
A larger Air?
If anything they need to make it smaller
14" 16:9 MacBook with slimmer bezels? It kinda looks like 16:9 here.I measured the Apple logo on a MB and MBP here at the office. 47mm from lowest part of the apple to the tip of the leaf on both.
Apply that scale to the photo it puts the case at 13.07" wide and 8.7" tall. 1.502:1
Compare that to the current MB and MBP specs:
MB
Width:
12.78 inches (32.5 cm)
Depth:
8.92 inches (22.7 cm)
1.433:1

I bought it May2008
And yeah I vote negative
I think they need to do both. They need a really compact sub-notebook Air for sure. However, I would really like a 15" Air as a companion for my iMac, my travel computer. I don't want all the ports, DVD, etc. I just want a super slim, lightweight machine with a nice full-size screen to work on. The current model, in my opinion, doesn't cut it. It's too big for the sub-notebook crowd...and not big enough for those of us who value a bit more screen real estate. IMHO.
why? You asking why? I give You one reason..

It's just a mockup where they changed the power button, and altered the display so it doesn't have the lines. Also, the glow behind the display is off. It isn't even all the way around.
