Long time lurker and figured no better day than today to make my first post. I don't know if this has been brought up by anyone else (I think I have been through most of the 900+ posts so far and didn't see it) but could that "laptop" featured in the invite actually be a glass trackpad?
T-5 days.

You might be the only one. ;)

Could be, but I doubt it

I'm going to make a prediction: you will be right. :p

As for me, I'm going to be giving Apple another 10 months to provide reasonably priced, reasonably-specced hardware. If by then, Apple doesn't satisfy, I'll be forced to buy a PC.

Seeing as we all no that apple isnt going to live up to your standards, why not just get the PC now?

What would "reasonably priced" be to you?

Lemme guess, theres a spec to spec coming.....

Yea someone said it could be a tablet in another thread. Perhaps, I do think Apple will be releasing something brand spankin' new because an event like this is not usual.

Do you think it would be dumb to drive 6 hours from Boise to Portland to one of their three Apple stores in the hopes that they will be in stock the day of announcement? No sales tax and I will want one bad.

yes wait 2 weeks and then go to portland

maybe you should wait till they announce the details of what they're releasing first. What if you don't want to buy what they're releasing?

ur tax are 8% right?
got my iphone from america...
macbook pro or mb? if u just buy a mb i wouldnt do it.... u just save 80dollars
mbp do it

I'm going to be in class during the keynote

I got the touch but the class is so small the teacher will notice if I sneak a peak.

You're in Boise? Sweet! I don't think it would be dumb, just a little unwise to gamble especially with the high price of gas

to wait a couple of hours/days isnt the end of the world...
i mean i/we waited since june for an update... be a little more patient...
i am at the uni and will observe it :D with my iphone

still noone answered my question...
what will be the difference between the mb and mbp? and dont tell me horse power-_-

And he confirmed times and times again that he hate Mac OSX and prefer XP/Vista, so I really can't see why he still stay on this forum.

So where could someone go to see the keynote live? Or will I have to wait until someone posts it up on youtube?

This will be my first :apple:. I have been saving my pennies for a year and half. But I have delayed due to the months long rumors. I am glad the time seems to have finally come. :D

I'm not sure what you drive/what gas costs up there, but lets guesstimate 30mpg highway and $3.50/gallon. 6hrs= 360mi each way or so, so 720mi round trip. 720mi/30mpg= 24 gallons of fuel. 24 gallons x $3.50= $84. Tax on a $1200 computer with a sales tax of 7% would be $84. If those numbers work, then go for it, it's a fun road trip anyways :p

Too bad that invite doesn't tell us if the nvdia chipset rumors are true!!
I can't wait till Tuesday!!

From my understanding he is alright with OSX but hates the price of apple hardware.

He might be part of the hackintosh crowd

Anyway, anyone care to take a guess if superdrive will finally be standard across the board. If apple still puts the combo drive on the entry level ANYTHING its completely inexcuseable

The MBP will have the card slot, one more USB port and the FireWire 800 port. It will also work with the 30" Apple Display. Also, traditionally, the Pro line usually has a wider viewing angle for the screen

Because, since I like OS X so much, I'm going to give Apple as much of an opportunity as possible. I'm not going to give myself the chance that Apple will actually release a good, reasonably-priced product after I had bought that PC. Also, as a college student, who is limited on funds, and does not yet need that laptop, buying a PC right now is not an option. ;) I also wish to run PC games while being able to flip over to OS X to work, while having both OS's on one machine.

And he confirmed times and times again that he hate Mac OSX and prefer XP/Vista, so I really can't see why he still stay on this forum.

I have never confirmed that I hate OS X. The only things about OS X I can confirm I dislike are the
1) Function of the green button
2) Poor flash support (more Adobe's fault)
3) Poor graphics drivers.

I don't "hate" OS for any of those things. Perhaps you mistook me for mosx? :p

Apple will post the video an hour or two after the event is over. I've herd they stopped doing live video because of the massive amount of bandwidth and traffic it got.

the more ports and better screen is not worth 800-1000 bucks in my opinion...
if they dont differ more between the lines i switch to a simple mb

ditto i hate the green button as well... why cant get full screen... --_---
