Apple Invites Media to 'Notebook' Event October 14th

I would prefer an empty bay so I can insert an optical or battery when ever I please. How come notebook manufactures stop allowing that option?

My issue is that it appears to be every iphone I have access to, has laggy problems if it is on 2.1.

I have been into the Apple store,and done a side by side comparison with display models, and my 1.1.4 is quicker to open all apps and use as a phone than any iphone on 2.1.

I appreciate this thread is not the place to discuss my disappointment with the 2.1 firmware; I just find it comical that Steve Jobs gets up on stage and professes the next big thing, and the last big thing still does no work.

You are right.
I was on the first page. Now that the initial excitement has worn off I'm trying to think of possible specs for the MBP. All I really want is a better GPU and 8 gigs of ram.

5) Is there anything like a blue ray combo or super drive out on the market? How much would a slot-loading blue ray drive cost Apple these days? (in other words, how much would a switch to blue ray increase the laptop price, and is there a suitable replacement for the DVD combo/super drives in the current models?)

6) After past announcements, how long until we could walk into an Apple store and buy one? I'd be surprised with a big delay because it would kill sales of the current models for a longer period.

After trying to reach the end of the thread, which is always increasing....finnaly I found a good set of questions, I hope that they were answered...

I'd actually recomend a Dell at current Apple notebook prices, but I'm sure most others would disagree.

Regardless, see what Apple releases, and base your decision of that. Don't just buy a computer without carefully considering all alternatives.

Indeed, hopefully the complaints will be in their own separate threads rather than be in the MacBook threads and wasting our time.

You could put that 'new laptop in a Starbucks' scene in any National Geographic mating ritual documentary and it would fit right in.
 
so now I have to decide if I list my macbook on ebay now or wait to see if the new ones have problems and list it when the values go back to a decent price?:confused:

led screen
multi-trackpad

these features were the features of the pro machine...

sure mbp:
more power
more hd
bigger screen
dedicated graphiccard BUT thats it...

no way to pay 1k for more if u can have a semi pro macbook imho
 
DAMN! theres been 1074 posts in about 9 hours which makes it about 20 posts per min!

i havent gone thru all those posts so forgive me if this has already been posted but i found this page lining up all the Apple logos on the current MacBooks with the one on the invite and it shows that its size is approximately the same as the current MacBook. plus its casing is distinctly different to the MacBook Air's so im confident we are looking at the new MacBook!

SOOO getting one of these! :D hopefully it will have an ambient light sensor for the keyboard and to dim the screen.
