i know that we have a election coming up that is very heated but as much as we all want to let's try to keep party politics off of here

But back to the IMPORTANT date, October 14...

I had my beloved powerbook stolen 2 months back (named "Eve", if u must know!, yes it was love for 2 great years)

After what has been a crappy time of 'one night stands' with fill-in pc laptops - I am really excited about a shiny new MPB that meets my needs at last.

(altho u never forget your first love do you?)

My shipment was picked up by FedEx in Shanghai, China sometime last night.

Now I'm just wondering what model I'm going to get. Like I said, I'll be perfectly happy if I get the current (soon to be older) model, since it's definitely a step up from the MBP AppleCare is replacing.

I guess I'll know soon enough... or at least I keep telling myself that.

I just had a situation very similar to this where there were two items I could've potentially received - one that I liked, one that I love. Like you, I was trying my hardest to convince myself that it'd be great if I got the one I love. I got the one I like, and was a bit depressed to say the least. The somewhat cynical moral of the story: expect the worst, and everything will be an upgrade. Try and convince yourself that an Apple branded rock is flying your way from China, and you'll be pleasantly surprised when a computer arrives :D

i don't have the money for my mac book or mac book pro yet but this is what i am hoping they will have

video card in mac book
a 15 inch screen mac book for those of us wanting a little more real estate that do not need to have beefy machines
6 GB of ram in the mac book pro
500 GB hard drive in the mac book pro (to match HP) ;)
and a SSD would be nice

and cheaper like every one
And like every one i want a suprise
 
i didn't know HP did 500gb, wow, that would be sweet - but equally to be able to burn to bluray might ameliorate the storage prob's so many of us have these days...

u describe a nice machine but.
