I know some people need to get real.

Even on Bluray readers they need a 17" with high def screen to view a bluray in its actual definition.

Not necessarily true, they make 15.4" screens that have 1920x1200. That's capable of 1080p. Apple would probably never put that high of resolution into the 15" MBP, but it's out there.

CONCERNING MAGNETIC LATCHES:

In my experience they create a WAY worse problem than they solve. Both my fiance and I have had CRACKED MacBooks due to the magnetic latches. They suck the top case down on top of the area with the trackpad and those little "plastic nubs" along the top of the screen hit hard and create cracks. You dont even have to close it hard for that to happen.

With the hook/button latches on the MBP (ever since the Pro line started) there is actually a bit of resistance on the way down to close it so it prevents the cases from slamming against each other.

For the love of God, use the hook latches or find a better system.

In my experience the magnetic latches are much better, no moving parts. I've had to fix my damn latch on my MBP twice and my magnetic latch on my MB hasn't caused any problems for me.

its petty Bluray is for bigscreens, now when the demand of Brays starts to eat into DVD maybe then it will be worth the change over, just for the sake of future proof data and media formats

Its a joke that they do this.

They have to or they would have countless people complaining about overheating.

look at the air

Apple designed the slimmest notebook, it looked stylish too, then they found current CPU's wouldnt work well with it so they asked intel to build a custom CPU just for the Air design

I wonder if Apple service providers are soon be able to disassemble and reassemble the new MBPs because I want a WD3200BEKT drive in in. I am pretty sure there will be an option for 320GB 7200 drives but you cant decide which one you get.
I hope they will learn quick

btw:
I think there will only be a Blueray option for lets say 300€ :)

...so what's on your wishlist for October 14 DHT?

MacBook Pro
• New case without the plastic seams of the current MBP that is stronger
• Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor
• 8gb max. ram
• GPU bump (256 bit memory bus)
• Hard drive bump
• Improved wifi reception
• Backlit black MBA keyboard

I know that all of these won't happen.

Nvidia is great? Check the MBP forum and the tech news. Some of the chips are not so "great" and they are also in the new macbooks.

It's ATI time.

Well Nvidea is not that bad, except for this one exception.
The new Nvidea chips will be ok

ITS NOT THE AIR. No offense, but making it a tad thicker would be able to fit that card with BETTER cooling than they have now. Its just thinner, not that much lighter or that much smaller footprint. Its a "pro" laptop, not the air.
