Which sounds good for MBPs going for 1799, since the article in that said the macbooks would retail for 799 said 1799 for the pros. Great comfirmation, if we can call it that.
Good I want to see these now, curse time and its linear function.

I saw a guy walking down the street yesterday with a newly purchased MacBook. I didn't know if I should feel bad for him or point and laugh....
Either way, sucks to be him!

Sweet!I went to FutureShop (Best Buy) in the afternoon and I aborted 3 Macbook sales by telling the buyers that new products are coming out on Wednesday. The salesman was really pissed.
The only person you should feel bad for or laugh at is anyone on this forum (including you) that live to continually upgrade their Apple toys every time a new model is released.
All this forum is about is, "I GOTTA HAVE PENRYN", "I GOTTA HAVE MERMOM", " I GOTTA HAVE NEHALEM" etc....
That guy you saw is probably the most sensible person when it comes to buying products, he probably buys what he NEEDS rather than what he's "GOTTA HAVE".
Although I stand by my above statement I understand what you mean. I've seen people buying brand new Macs at the Apple store just days before Macworld and they may be just the people that don't look back after their purchase. They have no idea they just bought the last Mac before an update.
'I GOTTA HAVE'... nothing..
I need the best of the best MBP there is for what I'm doing with it, so don't judge everyone and say we're update-addicted.
Ok, maybe I'm update-addicted. problem?
hehe
Wow, I didn't have to even mention names. It's interesting you are so defensive about it. Yeah, you're right, you are an upgrade addict. What are you doing that the current MBP CAN'T do for you? Nothing.![]()

So what?
What's wrong in waiting one month to have the new model with a new design?
Of course we know that the currents models are great, but when it comes in investing a grand or 2 for something, we like it to be the best one there.
I know Best Buy isn't always reliable but she has never steered me wrong in the past and she won't say anything if she doesn't know for sure. She stated like with most new apple products they won't get them in the store (where I live anyway) until anywhere from a couple of days to a week after the release which is fine with me because I plan on purchasing mine through apple using the good ol student discount!
1 month? some, like me are waiting for the new shipment for 10 months
well that is your problem. I've been waiting since June and I think it's too long
I wanna get NEW MACBOOK![]()

I think it's going to be a notbook-event-only, pure as the word says.
