I don't doubt your conversation, but Best Buy doesn't carry the best credible weight for me. With my experience, Best Buy employees have about the same IQ as a smart rock.
Well if the new MBs and MBPs are coming out Oct. 14th they would probably have price listings by now, since that's what the info came from originally supposedly.
So would Apple Stores' employees, and in another thread someone mentioned one of them said it was going to be $899. We just aren't going to know before 14th. And it isn't that far away, really.

Well they may not know anything, I'm just saying if the rumors are true about resellers getting the price list (which is what everyone is basing the $800 MacBook on) then it's possible BestBuy got the same price list.
Yes, me too. Yes, the invitation implies a notebook only focus, but Apple is sometimes known to quietly refresh product lines unmentioned in such events. Hopefully the mini will get a steroid shot soon.

As I just said on another thread perhaps replacing the Mac Mini with the MacBook Mini, Apple does like to have heads on their computers (at least that's my understanding from their current line up)

GL with the TV tuner, I'd love a mini with built in TV tuner, would save me about $150 as I wouldn't have to buy another EyeTV 250+ but I highly doubt it, and only awesome GPU I've seen in any Macs is on the Mac Pros which start at $2800
I know it's a pipe dream but it would be nice if Apple created a dedicated entertainment computer with all the fixin' like dare I say windows does.
Heresy! J/K yes that would be great, I'm waiting (along with 20 million other people it seems) for an updated mac mini for entertainment center uses
EDIT-yeah I could get a windows computer, but I live with my in laws and sister in law and her husband who think they know computers and don't, I've had to clean spyware off their windows XP machine multiple times and literally the next day they told me their computer was messing up again....I've given up

lol well consider AppleTV runs you $229-$329 and Mac Mini currently costs $600-$800 I'd still say they got their moneys worth
I'm pretty sure apple will cover that with a DVR of some type, they did register for a patent for some type of DVR software

Which sounds good for MBPs going for 1799, since the article in that said the macbooks would retail for 799 said 1799 for the pros. Great comfirmation, if we can call it that.

I was today in my local shop, here in Belgium, and one of the guys told me that I still can't order a MBP or MB cause they don't know the new specs, so can't insert them in the system of their shops...
He also told me it's possible that the new notebooks will be in the shop a week after oct 14th.
