Be careful what you wish for, there's not much for them to do with the AppleTv other than make it "thinner" and remove what few ports it has now. I'm scared the jagoffs will remove the ethernet and make it wifi only.

If you're still running ethernet I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but covering my house in a fast enough Wi-Fi signal ain't one...

I am truely hoping for hardware wise it would be updated to 4k resolution, a new A8, and more storage would be a plus for games.
My big hope is to update the software. Games, Handoff, and Siri integration are a MUST.

I see the Apple TV as a homekit hub. Most home automation platforms rely on a hub of some sort.

Good point, what if you make the Apple TV that hub of sorts, maybe even with large storage options. A central point that runs your entire Eco system. Q

I think this statement encompasses all their products that need upgrading. It could mean a new iPod where they add some sort of must have feature to get you to still purchase these things.

Mac Mini is #1 I would desire.

27" iMacs need to be updated somehow.

Apple TV.

Obviously iPad/Mini.

I get this feeling they'll save the Mac Mini for the finale to troll everyone bellyachin' about them being 'dead'.

I love that none of us can figure "It's Been Way Too Long" out. That excitement with Apple is clearly on its way back fast! If Tim Cook says "One More Thing" again this time, and blows us away again, Apple is officially back again post-Steve. Don't forget, Eddy Cue said that this fall & winter Apple will roll out the best product pipeline they've EVER done! So I have no doubt that they are gonna announce at least one thing that amazes us. I'm personally looking forward to:

iPad Prosemite (haha) or Macbook Touch
Touch ID on EVERYTHING
Wireless Charging (It's been way too long)
Mac Mini (should look exactly like that photo posted earlier)
New Apple Displays & Apple TV (the actual TV)
iMac Touch w/Retina
New MacBooks & a 17inch again (colors this time)

Can't Wait!!!!
lol I wish the way apple is going nowadays we'll see a small incremental update with a measly 1GB of ram yet again.

“It’s been way to long” seems like it has to be some combination of displays and/or Mac Minis. It’s been a long time for Apple TV, but they would have used a different tag line for Apple TV.

I’d guess retina displays or Mac Mini, or both.

Like a few have stated, could mean a stylus over a new touch screen. But I don't see how that could mean it's been too long.

too long using a mouse as the main means to interact with the computer?

for as awesome as our hands are, the mouse doesn't do them justice.. at all

Macs have moved on from being white, yet the keyboard and mouse accessories have not. It has been way too long since they matched.

"...Since we let you inside your imacs"

YEAH RIGHT :p

All I want is a 4K iMac and a wireless keyboard with number pad.

"It's been way too long" possible references

iPhone: obviously not
iPad: seriously doubt it, unless referring to it's lack of touchID
iMac: just had a redesign 2 years ago. Retina reference? seriously doubt it
Mac mini: while very outdated, do you really think the mac mini is an important enough device to be the focal point of an event?... case and point
iPods: No these aren't important to Apple
Macbook air: doesn't really make sense, because no one really thinks the mba is outdated.. so unless its a something revolutionary, which brings me to...
iPad pro/iOSbook Air: this kind of a hybrid device would make sense from the tagline, but I don't really see Apple releaseing this product
Apple TV: I think this is the most logical. Haven't had a h/w update in years. Better hardware is needed for homekit integration. Been wanting an app store for a long time. There is basically a lot of directions Apple could take this device in.

One of the few good logical posts on this thread. Thank you.
Everyone listen to this guy

Yeah it seems that the Apple TV is the most likely to be what apple is talking about. But every time I think about the words "Its been way to long" I really feel that by saying this Apple is dissing on themselves. Weird...
Wouldn't be the first time Apple has dissed themselves.

Still really curious what is in store for the Mac Mini.
I guess it will either be a Core M device, which would mean it would be redesigned. Most likely thinner than a macbook air, but really has the potential to be as thin as an iPhone 6.

Or the other option I suppose is they will announce it the device now, but it wont be shipping until next year when suitable broadwell processors are released.

I really hope they don't release a haswell mac mini at this time, and I doubt they will.

And whatever happened to the fanless Core M MacBook Air? Is that not going to be able to make an appearance at this event. Or be announced now and released this Holiday? doesn't really make sense...

And I have no idea what to expect for Apple TV

Now they setup a huge fail if they don't update one of those long overdue products. Kinda bad idea for an invite if true.

Lol. big fail. sure. no one will really care a couple of days after the event. the invite is not significant. when have you ever thought about one after the event?

Please google "IPS 4K display." I challenge you to find me an IPS 4K display at 60hz for less than $2,000...and that is JUST FOR A DISPLAY. Not a high-end computer behind the display.

Now someone please explain to me how we'll see a Retina iMac next month (at 4K let alone this 5120x2880 5K rumor)? I'm still struggling to understand how they'll do it at a price point that isn't insane.

This comes up all the time. It's completely prohibitive up until the moment it's suddenly not. If anyone can make it happen, Apple can.

To be fair, every product they have ever introduced is the best one they have ever done. At that moment. :p

It is quite obvious!

It's a stylus with pressure control

The apple deforms in a wave under the pressure sensitive "brush"

Way refers to waacom maker of pressure sensitive styluses

C'mon guys - you aren't expecting new products are you? Oct 16th will of course be 2 hours of Tim Cook rambling sales figures, iOS adoption rates, and the gazillion number of apps downloaded from the App Store...

You know it's been way too long since... ;)

/s

It's an updated iPod Classic.

It's pronounced "wah-kahm".

I'm afraid, that it will be disappointing.

Maybe a smaler iPad mini with 5.5 inch and now you can make phone calls with it - it will be called iPhone 6 Plus.

And on the Mac side, they will finally drop iPhoto and Aperture, so that you can use the new photo app, to have the same experience of a unsorted library, as you already have with IOS8. Instead of being creative, you can spend hours and days, to find your data.

All Pro-Apps will be deleted, because they will not work with the new ultra glossy screens, of the new macs.
