Not the first one to call it, but this seems to be the solution to the riddle ...

Therefore...

Apple TV is very very possible, I know they wanted to wait to have a deal with cabe, but that's way off now.

So, with the added competition, they might go with what they have, which should be something pretty interesting, regardless Apple fans will certainly buy it.

If we are to assume it has an App Store with games then...
it would not ship until early next year since it would need lead time for an API and app developers to build apps for it.

That's why we have not seen any leaks

How about iPods with the new watch interface?

Seriously though, it's new mainstream Macs... probably just called the :apple:Mac.

Television?

Didn't Tim Cook say in a post Watch launch interview the other week, that's it's been way too long since anything had been done to change the way we watch television?

Specifically re having to watch schedules and not what you want to watch?

Perhaps that's the "one last thing" next Thursday.

I see the Apple TV as a homekit hub. Most home automation platforms rely on a hub of some sort.

Most likely they introduce shorter Lightning connector cables....;)
I hope it is either the Mini or TV, they both need an upgrade desperately.

I think Apple TV needs to open itself up and allow anyone to create their own channel, not just the major networks. Kinda like Youtube. Forget big cable deals for now and democratize the living room big screen. Content will never be a problem, just needs a better UI. Even allow for templates and framework for people to create professional looking ad supported content channels. All for just a cut of the ad revenue like the App Store model.

I think, more broadly, it's been "too long" since they've introduced a truly new category of Mac computer. Last was probably the iMac? I think everything since then you could just classify as refinements.

Apple
Buys Intel and Microsoft,
Releases an acid orange Apple II (for those who have been waiting a long time)
Buy the maker of Oreos and make them much thinner.
Creates an adapter for the Iphone 6 so it can shave closer than the competition.

You know what's been way too long? A new Apple Display for the Mac Pro. Retina?

They did a pretty good job on the new Mac Pro. Not one single leak revealing the new form factor or even a hint. So I think they can manage a secret still. Not that I agree a new product category is coming.

They were only able to do this because these were going to be manufactured I'm the USA. Products that are made in China will always see leaks. The Chinese do not care about intellectual property theft. At all. They cannot effectively or meaningfully control their supply chain secrecy in China. It's virtually impossible.

This is also why they decided not to start production on the Apple watch until AFTER it was unveiled. It was the only way they could ensure the designs and prototypes weren't leaked by the Chinese before the event. Apple can control the IP when the designs sit with Apple in the US.

As for the meaning of the announcement text; seems easy to guess based on last product refresh cycles.
In order of likelihood, my guesses are: Apple Thunderbolt display (higher resolution, years since meaningful update, still on mag-safe 1 connectors), Mac Mini, Apple TV update (or the actual TV rumored about)

An iPad Mini Phablet
An Apple Mac Mini TV <---FTW!
Updated Nano and Touch (4.7"?)

Mac Pros will probably updated next year with the new Intel chipset.

I've got to ask... what is your interest in the iPhone 6? Hardware and spec wise its so similar to the 5s. Is it just the bigger screen size? What do you do on it where you want a bigger screen at the expense of pocket / walking comfort and 1 handed use?

The biggest bump in hardware capability between the iPhone 6 and 5s is the GPU. And in the GPU benchmark below you can see its a MUCH smaller jump than we typically see in a new iPhone launch. Which is made even more surprising because its got the advantage of a much bigger case and battery to fit in more powerful hardware. For what you are paying, it just seems like a rip off

I'm curious to hear your thoughts and opinions... but say you really wanted a large screen phone. When the 5s was released it beat out the Galaxy Note 2 in most benchmarks. Think about that, the smallest smart phone, beating out the largest smart phone (not released at same time but co-existing in the same generation). I would expect the iPhone 6 to trounce the Note 4, but it doesn't even come close to the Note 3! To buy the iPhone 6 I would just feel like i got scammed! The wait for a 6s if you want the bigger phone seems like such a no brainer to me. Again, let me know your thoughts, I am not meaning to sound like a git ; )

Ok, well the thing is that you're right the jump isn't huge, but the A7 was already so far ahead of the competition, the A8 is icing on the cake. It is all about making design and engineering decisions as a whole. Good article about that here. I am wondering what you are comparing to when you say the iPhone 6 doesn't come close to the Note 3 let alone Note 4. What metric are you using? Because this graphic apparently males the opposite conclusion:

Like a few have stated, could mean a stylus over a new touch screen. But I don't see how that could mean it's been too long. the color scheme has me thinking it may do with macs back then. But none of is really know :p
