If you're still running ethernet I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but covering my house in a fast enough Wi-Fi signal ain't one...

Ethernet works just fine and is fast, no matter how much your neighbours saturate space with WiFi.

While the "It's been way too long" is just a little joke at how soon this event is after September's, the fact that they've repurposed the graphic from the 'Happy Birthday, Mac' image suggests that we will see some Mac updates.

Maybe Macbook Air...

Switch from 16:9 to 3:2? Now that would be something.

It's Been Way Too Long

...a wait for male conditioned haptic touch gestures:

1. Ass cheek scratching (magic trackpad swipes)
2. Scrotum re-positioning (two-finger taps)
3. Ear wax digging (single finger tap/left click)
4. Nose picking (right click)

It could simply mean that the "i" is going to die at least on the computer area. Only the iMac is standing, so we go back to Macintosh (or Mac) for the iMac.

And yet the keyboard is probably as perfect you can make it. I have been using my apple keyboard ever since I got it and never looked back. Apart from wireless charging and introducing more gestures theres nothing much they can do with the mouse. Perhaps they could find a way to integrate touch ID into both which would be cool, but otherwise they are fine tuned products which dont require changing.

Agreed, except I'd say MagicMouse could get a little better battery life.

27" iMacs need to be updated somehow.

100% agreed... I might go back to an iMac if the problems that I see with its current design are solved. This may not be popular with some but the iMac's we have at the moment are a joke IMO, specifically the 21.5" model. It is not an improvement over the previous design, it's a significant step back! The hard drive is slow and capacity is limited. The RAM is not upgradable and the speakers have gone from being reasonably good to being total-tinny-crud.

These trade-offs appear to be just so it could have a slightly different arse, because the front of the iMac hasn't changed. If there's one thing I prefer its a nice big arse - anyway... One particularly annoying feature is the fact that the SD Card reader is on that arse of the iMac. Granted it's previous position meant it could accidentally end up in the DVD slot but at least it was accessible! These are the sorts of problems apple should be working to resolve whilst maintaining its iconic design.

So yes mate I agree with you that the iMacs need updating. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the design becomes more functional...

Apple: "We heard all you Samsung/Android fans like big phones, so here's a phone for your pad, so you can iPad while you iPhone. We know, it's been way too long and overdue."

It's Mac!

The homage to the original Apple logo rainbow colors definitely makes me think of the days Apple used to only make Macs... so it's definitely Mac related.

My wallet is ready for a new iPod touch! Take my money now!

It would be nice if they made a iPod nano with 128gb starting capacity to replace the iPod Classic.

iPod touch should also come in 32, 64 and 128gb configurations. My guess is they will keep the 5th gen $199 iPod as the budget model and the 32gb and up will be the premium model as usual. This seems evident that most retail stores are only stocking the $199 model right now, at least based on what I see on the shelves.

I would like to see a Mac mini refresh as well, as lots of others would as well.

I am guessing we will at the very least see some kind of news or update to the iPod line at this event.

I really hope that the new iPad has better precision for using a stylus. I'm tired or using paper and a whiteboard to do math and physics homework. The precision is what needs to impress me.

Also being able to use the iPad as a drawing tablet for the Mac would seal the deal for me.

Have you tried the new Wacom Bamboo Fineline?

It's been way to long since they've introduced a truly innovative product.

Apple Pay certainly is such a product, but apart from that we have been spoiled with loads of new gadgets/technologies etc. for quite a few years, we have to accept that this pace is slowing down for a few years to come. And slowing down is needed. Consumers have not yet caught up with HDTV and already UHDTV is here, don't even mention 3D TV. If consumers have to catch up with technology every couple of months they become bored and fed up. I am quite excited about wearables :)apple: Watch to be precise), but only future will tell if this is going to be the next big thing.

I would love this to be a hint that the iPad is getting an ultra low latency touch screen. It would be great to be able to draw or write without perceptible lag.

I think it's Apple TV and a refreshes on the iMac and iPad. If it's a 'major' launch of a new Mac, I would've thought they'd say something like '30 years in the making'.

I'd like Apple to update the Apple TV but also to increase iTunes Match to at least 50,000 tracks and update Time Capsule to act as a server and not just backups.

Perhaps this?

Nice!

I do believe the Mini is up for a major overhaul or refactoring so I'm expecting something different. However I'm leaning towards a scaled down Mac Pro like design maybe 2/3 rd the size of the Mac Pro. That size of a machine should offer apple enough room to up rate the Mini performance wise. I'd like to see the capability for a 85 watt chip, desktop RAM modules or an upgrade to DDR 4 or other fast standard.

If not a i86 85 watt chip split the wattage between a CPU chip and a discrete GPU chip. The problem here is that Apple never allocates enough RAM to the GPU chip. I'd rather see them implement a high performance APU style chip with lots of fast RAM. Very fast RAM actually like Memory Cube or that new RAM standard AMD is working on.
